What's new

Guess where the free agents will land

If I were Golden State, I would go hard after Yao Ming. Keeps the fan base interested and makes the Udoh pick make some sense.

Boozer would fit in. Favors is going to take a couple of years to develop. If I'm NJ, I offer Boozer a 4-yr deal. He can get 10 minutes at the 5 behind Lopez as Favors increases his P/T. And in that 4th year, you could always offload him as an expiring contract if needed.

Not sure why they'd do that. But Thorn has resigned, so maybe Prokhorov decides to go with a "win-now" philosophy. If I were the Nets, I'd go after Johnson first (well, assuming I don't land Lebron).

Put Boozer on that New Jersey team they had last year, and it nets them (no pun intended) maybe 5 - 8 more wins. If Brook Lopez continues to improve and Favors has an impact, the Nets win maybe 25 - 27 games and progress to the level of last year's Sacramento Kings. If Boozer goes to New York, he'll be the new Zach Randolph or David Lee. Suppose Joe Johnson goes there and plays 50% better than Jamal Crawford. The Knicks are back to the level they were at 2 years ago: a 30 - 35-win team. The Knicks bet the farm on Lebron or Wade. Now they're about to lose the farm.

If I'm Boozer, I let the Knicks set my market value and hope the Jazz want me. Otherwise, I'm looking at being a lotto-team player in the NY area or in Canada.

If that happens, Houston may build a dynasty. They got an insame amount of picks from NY, including the Knicks' unprotected 1st in 2011, IINM, in the T-Mac deal. I still think NY is the most likely destination for Lebron. NY has a few decent players in place. Add Lebron and another player - even if it's just re-signing Lee - and they'll be a threat to at least finish in the top-4.

Only team, IMO, that immediately threatens for a title with Lebron is Chicago. That has to be tempting for him.

The latest I heard was that Miami is looking to dump their entire team and start over brand new with Lebron and Bosh coming to join D-wade. That sure would be interesting... Although, I wouldn't mind watching that team implode as all 3 fight over the 1 ball. The real kicker will be to see if Pat Riley comes down to coach them. He only coaches ready made teams.

I do however believe that Amare and Joe Johnson are headed to NY. I don't think much is going to change that. They'd love to play with their old coach again.

My first roll kept Boozer in Utah.

It also landed Wade, Bosh, and Lebron all in Miami.

I wonder if that would get more than 5,000 of their ungrateful fans to go to games.

Lebron and Bosh are going to the Heat with Wade. Gonna happen. Boozer to the Knicks.

I hope the former does happen and they don't win a title. Securing three studs like that assures them nothing.
1) Their interior defense would still be suspect--Bosh is nothing special; who'd play the 5?
2) They'd have very little room to add any quality depth.
3) Wade is always banged up and could be an injury away from being Grant Hill 2.0.
4) Their three point shooting would be meh. Wade and Lebron are nothing to write home about here.
5) Who knows how the team chemistry would be.

I would actually root for the Lakers harder than I ever rooted for them which was zilch.
