What gun regulation that is not already in place would you propose?
You're not going to agree with it so why post it? The whole system needs an overhaul. From the amount of ammo these guns can carry, which guns are available for purchase, and the mental evaluations needed to obtain these weapons. It's pretty obvious that we cannot keep kicking the can down the road like the GOP has done for so long.
Great, but this is not the federal government's domain. School districts or state government, maybe. Definitely not the federal government placing troops in the schools.
Great! Are you ready to pay more in taxes to support your "local" school district/government?
LOL. Of course. Free market can solve any and every ill. Just look at our wonderful health care system which doesn't spend twice as much as the #2 country and covers everyone... Just look at how costs have not skyrocketed since Reagan deregulated this industry.
I think one of the best ideas is one that you and a number of others here are going to hate. Depending on the size of the school, anywhere from 4 to a dozen teachers and staff should be well trained in the use of a particular firearm and allowed to keep them at school.
As someone who has personal experience as an educator (and who has several close family and friends) all (myself included) are completely against this idea.
whoever, as long as they pass a rigorous training and psychological course and are reevaluated yearly. Did you read the article I posted about mass shootings in the U.S.?
Great! Will you pay for this training? We don't even have AC in many schools here in this state. So will you help fund the training necessary for your solution?
In the last 62 years, only one mass shooting has not occurred in a "gun free zone".
Cool. So what is this supposed to prove?
The Aurora shooter chose a theater that specifically stated that firearms were not allowed on the premises and drove past at least half a dozen other theaters to terrorize this particular location.
Are you really suggesting that the shooter, dressed up as the Joker (the previous villain in Batman) purposely sought after a "gun free" zone at his local theater to attack folks at the midnight showing of the final Batman movie? So had that place not been a gun-free zone that the "Joker" wouldn't have attacked there?
That really puts a lot of faith into your state's school system. I can see why Christie wants to fire all of you.
Are you suggested that non-unionized teachers are better gun shooters than unionized ones?
How about private school teachers, are they better?
Or are you suggesting wall street or banking execs working in the "private sector" are better shooters than those in the public sector?
Speaking of Christie, think he's a better shooter than a lot of teachers? I know he can eat more pizza than most of them. But what about his shooting skills?
Your comment was more of a cheap *** shot rather than an intelligent comment. Consider us even now.
