Guys That Didn't Make the Team

I would like to launch a discussion regarding guys that were at summer league or in camp that ultimately did not make the squad. Guys like Oliver Hanlan, Brock Motum, JJ O'Brien, Traveon Graham, Cotton, Cooley, Dante Cunningham and if any of them might have a future in a Jazz uni as the 14th or 15th man. I know that JJ and Graham all had their DLeague moments, Motum and Hanlan's team was doing well and Cotton will get a playoff check from the Griz. What say you?

I think the Jazz's interest in these players is what is holding us back. They need to stop giving chances to players that don't really belong on NBA rosters.

We complain that the Clippers' bench beat our team. Do you remember that Ingles* was given a guaranteed contract by the Clippers and the waived? Funny how our regular rotation player couldn't make it on the Clippers bench...

*I feel a little bad making this point because I'm actually an Ingles fan. (Less of a fan after he bragged about someday showing his children that Kobe scored 60 on him.)

I'd like to think Hanlan will eventually make the team.. They passed on the Eastern Conference rookie of the month Norman Powell to select him.

Powell's already secured the title of "Best 2nd round pick in franchise history"

My hope is that TB and CJ join this group of players who do not make our team and that the Jazz add someone equal to Trey Lyles with the 12 pick (quality not position)and sign one solid free agent. Combine this with Dante and Alec coming back and I believe we are fighting for the 4 seed.

Dante, Mack, Neto Significant improvement over last season
Hood, Burks Significant improvement over last season
Hayward, FA/Draft, Ingles Significant improvement over last season
Favors, Lyles, Booker Remains solid plus Lyles growth will be an improvement
Gobert, FA/Draft, Withey, Pleiss Rookie center won't do much but Favors can remain primary back up
