Yep. Everyone. You included.
I would expect ESPN to act in their own best financial interest, whether the comparison is about a Democratic or a Republican politician.
Yep. Everyone. You included.
I fixed it for you.
During the 2008 elections, Madonna ...

And lost in all of this is that nobody would have noticed that Hank Jr.'s song was not played. That song and the godawful Faith Hill Sunday Night song are both tired. Time for something new.
Yeah, that one would go over real well.
What does this have to do with your overgeneralization of "everyone on this board"?
Thanks for the heads up YB.
With all due respect to Mr. Jobs, probably MNF was the greatest invention/development/creation in my life to date. I am not smart enough to articulate how big this was for our generation. YB can probably add more to this, but where I lived we received two games on Sunday. There were no post game shows or comprehensive highlight shows. You read about the games in the paper the next morning or next afternoon. When MNF came on the scene it also brought the innovation of the halftime highlights with Howard Cosell. This was without a doubt the finest few minutes in TV each week. Apparently, Howard did not prep, simply narrated on the fly. In the early part of my childhood, mom would make us get ready for bed and bring our pillows and blankets out on the floor and we used to try to stay up for the halftime highlights. Always made it and promptly crashed some time in the 3rd qtr.
God it was awesome.
What does freedom of speech mean when businesses are becoming soooooooooooooo overly sensitive?
Gee, government might not imprison me for what I say, yet my employer for any reason at all, can fire me.
Ummm what a slipperly slope we're putting ourselves on.
I'm all for showing respect, and don't think that Hank's comments were appropriate. Stupid in fact. But to cost him his job? Seriously?
Wrong. Dude, ever since I was a kid I loved Monday Night football and always loved listening to Hank before the games. Hell, my wife hates football and even likes the Monday night football songs. It wont be the same without him.
You are correct. I did overgeneralize, and it was careless of me. I'll try to be more careful in the future. Thank you for the correction.
“After reading hundreds of e-mails, I have made MY decision. By pulling my opening Oct 3rd, You (ESPN) stepped on the Toes of The First Amendment
Freedom of Speech, so therefore Me, My Song, and All My Rowdy Friends are OUT OF HERE. It’s been a great run.” -- Hank Williams Jr
