Jeez enough already......how much gushing can one man give another!!!!

"Boler do you think that Lebron is sexier with or without his headband"?

Sickening.

Anybody who loves basketball is in love with LeBron.

Not true at all. I have loved the game of Basketball for over 65 years and i despise LeBron. While recognizing his extraordinary ability at my favorite game the guy makes me want to hurl. Never have i seen an NBA player who is more ego driven. He spends more time vamping for the cameras than anyone named Kardashian (don't know if i spelled this name correctly or not and don't care). That ridiculous unveiling thing he did when relocating to Miami was the most sickening sidebar to a sport that i have ever witnessed. He has only increased his whoring for attention since. Kobe is an amateur by comparison. I know a lot of NBA superstars have big egos but LeBron's is the size of a galaxy.

Damn CarolinaJazz. Calm down. Karl and Jordan were no different.

He plays both ends of the floor, he passes, he rebounds, he handles, he shoots the three, he shoots the midrange shot, he's relentless going to the basket, he's efficient, he gets to the FT line, he works hard to improve his game every year, he studies the game religiously, he makes his teammates better, he's clutch, he wins championships, he's a good teammate, he's big, he's strong, he's fast, he's well-conditioned. He's shooting 60% FGs! He's as close to perfection as we've ever seen in this game of basketball.

If don't love LeBron, despite what you claim, you don't love basketball.

30-9-9...in 34 minutes...Burks is getting slurped up (rather deservedly) and he had 30-7-3 in the same amount of minutes...

Malone flexed. Malone looked at the camera. Malone did all that stuff...

And that stuff is actually fun for the fans when you're a player. There's nothing wrong with showmanship, as long as your game can back it up.

The Decision was bad, even if it was hatched with the idea of good intentions, but his on court stuff is actually quite benign in nature.

I really don't give a **** about what he does off the court, or what he does after a dunk. His on the court antics are harmless at best, more a rouse for fan interaction then anything to put people down, and he made a spectacle about his decision because the viewing public let it happen (and actually supported it - look up the viewership for the event). He may very well end up being the greatest player of all time, and a true basketball fan would be crazy to loathe him.

jope- I am not talking about what he does after a dunk. I am talking about the towel over his head after tweaking his ankle, punching the floor etc. then reentering the game, running the floor like a gazelle then limping to the sideline., i am talking about the headband coming off. I am talking about the center hike after getting the opening tip. etc. etc. etc.

And that stuff is actually fun for the fans when you're a player.

siro- Did you actually think about that sentence before you posted it. The fans decide what is fun and what is not, not the players. To all who have disagreed with me on this, i did say many other players have super sized ego's. It's my perception that he goes way beyond anyone else's "showboating" if i can use a benign term to describe what he does. seattlejazzfan's litany of all the things he does is accurate. I did not say he was not a great player simply that i dislike him for the way he carries himself. Its not just pride in my view but self-worship and an arrogance that knows no bounds. He has changed a lot from who he was as a young player. If you all enjoy this type of behavior then feel free to adore him if you want. I will continue to dislike him. Great athletic ability does not justify boorish behavior and i concede that many NBA players and other pro athletes also don't get that concept. One other name comes to mind. Alex Rodriquez of the Yankees. And i am a huge Yankee fan for much longer than i have been a Jazz fan. A-Rod was a favorite of mine but he has proven to be totally self-delusional. Just don't try to tell me i have too like certain players or i can't be a basketball fan as that is a ridiculous statement. I believe we all have players who just rub us the wrong way, i am sure you could name some that rub you the wrong way. How talented they are is totally beside the point, or at least it should be.

The decision was really the only mistake he has made, and I mean the way he announced it... He can choose to go where ever he wants... He is in front of cameras EVERYDAY, how many times has he said stupid things? None, he is smart and articulates everything just the way he wants to. There has NEVER been an elite super star who wasn't ego driven. It takes ego to get to the top.
Anyway, yeah, I have to agree with SJF. I don't like the Heat at all, but to "love" a game and not "love" the obvious best player playing that game and playing it in all the right ways, seems silly. Don't have to root for him or anything, but you are cheating yourself with that attitude, IMO.

You seriously crack me up. 'Player' as in 'baller'. Meaning talented. As for the rest of your post, basketball is entertainment. The best players tend to be the best showmen. And that's okay. It makes the game more exciting when you know that those are people, with their flaws and vanity and everything else human. As long as it stays secondary to the interests of the team. I'm surprised some would rather watch laborers doing what they're paid to do.

Someone that knows exactly how good they are is worse than Hitler. I agree.

Tim Duncan and David Robinson seemed pretty different from the run of the mill ego driven superstar.

I think Lebron is a pretty decent dude considering all the attention he receives. He has said some stupid things to the media that rub people the wrong way but I think he is far beyond that stuff now. Watching him play is the best thing on television.
