What's new

Harpring is in love with Lebron!!!

There's nothing wrong with HATING LeBron James...Just hate him like you'd hate a heel in the WWE. I have no problem rooting against him, and I've punched things after hurting something playing pick-up ball. Hate 'im 'cause he celebrated after a dunk on your team and boo his ***. But hating him as a person just seems like sour grapes.

It's funny how these posts moved toward Lebron (natural reaction, not hating).

The point of my original post was Harprings over the top god worship of Lebron. Is he the best player on the planet? No question. Does every other sentence need to be broadcast about his greatness? No

Go back to making fun of Boler, even though it's egotistical and only secondary to hero worship it's what you do best!!!

Not to take away for Burks great night; but at the end of the game when James backed him down and then dunked on him for an and-1, it looked like me playing Nerf basketball with my 9 year old son.

No matter what you think of LeBron he is truly dominant. He looks like a man playing amongst boys out there.

I agree that the hero worship of LeBron by Harpring is vexing. My wife was in the room with me, not really paying too much attention but she looked up and said, "that broadcaster really likes LeBron, doesn't he?"

Amazing play....
Watched the replay from a better angle and in slow mo and there was no foul doe.
But it is lebron against burks so of course the refs are gonna blow the whistle

Lebron makes about three or four plays in a game that very few in the league can make. The dunk that didn't count, made me leap off my soily sofa. The dunk on Burks was beautiful. The reverse dunk on the run in the first, the reverse under the basket in the first half. He has worked hard on his shot, and has become a consistent shooter, but his form is always ugly. He is one of the few players in the league that people will pay to see.

The bolded statement clearly isn't true.

I enjoyed the pre-game special they did on him. I would like to see more of that stuff, especially during the holidays.

The only thing I hate about LeBron is that he doesn't have any competition. We could use 10 more of him.

and I've punched things after hurting something playing pick-up ball.

Laughed out loud after reading this as when i was younger i was known to punch the floor myself even after missed shots or a mistake (totally immature). And i wouldn't guarantee that i wouldn't do it right now if i could. Its the context that this happened that rubbed me wrong. The game was decided when it happened, then he put the towel over his head (drama Queen action). He in my view should not have been allowed to return to the game ( too valuable). I know that it was a slight ankle roll and probably not a full sprain. Class and effort when maybe you are not as talented as some is highly admirable (realizing this makes me sound like Jerry and/or Ty, ugh!) Agree totally with b_line about Robinson and Duncan doing it the right way. Believe LeBron was a better teammate and person his first few years in Cleveland. His greatness is unquestioned but he makes it hard for me to like him. If excellence is your only criteria then that's fine for you, but maybe not enough for me.

A few years ago, I thought Lebron was overrated. Couldn't hit the outside shot, disappeared in the clutch, was a choker, etc., but he worked on his game and he now has ZERO weaknesses, he is unquestionably the best player in the league, quite possibly the best player in the NBA since MJ retired. I respect a player that knows what their weaknesses are and works to make that a strength. Malone was the same way. I have no problem with the exaggerated "love" being shown toward LBJ.

Some people hated Jordan.

Today, people hate Lebron.

And to be honest, Lebron is the better player of the 2. There, I said it. Jordan couldn't do half the things lebron does. Plus, Jordan would get trucked if he ever tried to defend Lebron. Meanwhile, Lebron's length would make things very hard on Jordan.

To me, Kobe and MJ are essentially the same. Lebron? Has absolutely no comparison. It's like magic, Malone, and Jordan mixed their genes and game to create a super freak.

Just sit back and enjoy the show. These careers go by so fast. I wish I could see sir charles, Jordan, Malone, Stockton, shaq, dream, Duncan, and Kobe all in their primes again.

I disagree with you that LBJ is better than MJ (although LeBron is a more complete player) because MJ was such a great scorer and defender, but the bolded part is important. It's a shame people like grandpa jazz and so many others let LeBron's "ego" get in the way of appreciating an all-time great. He is the type of player we may never see again.

None of us know these guys personally - LeBron might be an ******* of the highest degree or he might be the greatest guy in the world. To pretend we know what kind of people they are is craziness. They all have egos. All we know is what we see on the court and what we see on the court with LeBron is one of the most unique talents in not just NBA history, but sports history.

Just sit back and enjoy the show, indeed.

Lebron is unique and really impressing, unfortunately his "mind-change" came a little bit late but anyway he is a monster. 10 years later everyone will respect him more und will be sad that they haven`t enjoy him longer.

In 3-4 years Durant and Anthony Davis will fight for the best player status (or even Wiggins after winnig the title with the Jazz:cool:).

James better than Jordan? Silly rabbit.

Jordan is probably the greatest competitor that ever played the game. And I wouldn't make a heartfelt argument that anyone was better than him.

But I've never seen a player dominate a game as easily as James does.

This must have been what Wilt was like in the late 50's/early 60's.

So many just seem to want to not understand what i am saying. You will get no argument from me that LBJ is not the greatest player of perhaps all time. That for me is not enough. I of course do not know LBJ personally, as neither do any of you. I would like him to simply let his greatness shine forth and be the ultimate team player and to do it with class and style. Major histronics over a tweaked ankle in a game that is already decided may seem a small and insignificant thing. To me i see a totally self absorbed individual who has let all the hero worship get into his head. I think it's sad that so many are so impressed with an individuals talent that they lose all perspective and idolize someone (anyone) to the point that any criticism of that person is unacceptable and offensive to them. I stand by my comments and feel i have the right to my opinion. It is symptomatic that so many are offended or feel i am "cheating myself" to not blindly idolize someone simply because they are recognized as the best. I enjoy watching him play for that very reason so how am i "cheating myself"? candrew makes a great point about Wilt who IMO is the second greatest player of all time, but it must be said that Wilt also had many negative character traits.
