Harpring jersey needs to be retired

Maybe after he has been a broadcaster for at least 10 years, or when he becomes both a broadcaster and a special coach at the same time, or alternates, or does something that distinguishes him in addition to his playing career, because I don't think he was good enough as a player, except for maybe his first two years with the Jazz when he was a borderline All-Star

If Hornacek's jersey can be up in the rafters at the ESA, Harprings could be up there as well...the real question is, is when is AK's jersey going up there?? ...

... :D BAHAHAHAHA!

Harprings Jersey has been announced for a retirement ceremony already.

Georgia Tech loved him that much.
Next year when we travel to Atlanta, he will make the side trip with his M&M's and Fry Sauce.

Hornacek WAS also an all-star with Philidelphia, so... AK will probably have his retired, as well as Memo

No. Retiring a jersey should be saved for elite rare players that are 1st ballet hall of fame guys. It has gotten way too watered down.

Harpring? That's a joke.

But AK? That's a much more interesting question.

If he resigns and plays out in Utah, I think it's a possibility.

Absolutely not. Horny doesn't really belong up there but at least he was the final piece in a championship contending team. As much as I liked Matt he was a role player plain and simple.

This. Harpring was < Bryon Russell. He does not belong in the rafter's. Now Ak is an interesting case. I don't think he belongs. But this is the Jazz.

I don't think Bryon Russell was better than Harpring.

But if you retire Harpring, you would have to consider retiring Russell and you'd definitely have to retire Thurl Bailey.

Matt Harpring is nowhere near worthy of having his number retired. Now, on any given night, he's the second best player in the ESA to have worn 15 for the Jazz.

Also, no on Russell. If we retire a number for every player who had 1 or 2 good seasons for us, we'll run out.

Thurl is borderline. But I think Horny is really borderline, also.

AK is borderline, but you don't really need to retire his number. Who else would wear 47, anyway?

If anyone's jersey deserves to be retired, it is Thurl's. But even his doesn't really deserve to be retired, other than at the end of a long career with the Jazz when he is 80 and retiring, maybe then.

Nah, not even then.
