Harris Appreciation Thread

I don't know why, but I always felt really bad for Harris. He played in New Jersey, that has to suck ***. He publicly said the Nets killed his love for Basketball. Utah had slowly revived that. I hope Harris does well. He is a great player and I hope he continues to play like he did in the 2nd half of this past season for the Hawks.
Nobody deserved to suffer through that abysmmal 12-win season. Quite the downward spiral after their playoff appearances and his all-star season.

Hopefully Atlanta trades him to a good situation. I can't say he didn't exasperate me most of the time, but he was great at the end of the year and he can still crack Top 15 on the right team.

One thing I liked about Harris was that he never seems to turn the ball over... He had a very reliable handle... He couldn't pass it very well but at least he didn't turn it over.

He seemed like a quality person. But man alive he was one of the hottest/coldest players I've ever seen. Still, I did love when he was on fire from downtown or when he pushed the ball up the court. Just wish that passion could have been played in the majority of his games.

I'm not way into the thanks thing, often. Player doesn't 'thank' the team that paid him .. it's kinda even. The Stockton's .. don't exist.

I wish Harris well. Hopefully he'll have a good year with Atlanta and generate some interest for when he'll be a FA next summer.

I didn't want him and I won't miss him. But he seems like a nice person.

I wish him luck.

Harris is a good player who was in the wrong situation. I'm glad the Jazz are giving him a shot to impress elsewhere as keeping him on this season would have really tanked his market value as he became further and further marginalized.

Maybe he'll ultimately find his place on another team as a change of pace guard but that was never going to happen here.

Also he's taking HeavenHarris with him and for that we should all be thankful.

I like Harris the person. Wish him all the best.

Thank you for your game winner against the Heat.

love,

Devin is a good player, a real professional. Unfortunately he's not in the right system. He really came on big for us at the end of last season and I started really liking him. I do think this is a good trade, but I wish Devin well. I hope he does well in Atlanta and gets a warm reception when they come here to play.

Please. Harris admitted to giving up in New Jersey and never improved after being traded into a better situation.

sure he improved here. it's hard to adjust mid-season, especially when you're going to a team with a completely different system. then he had injuries that had him in-and-out in 2011, interrupting his progress. this year he started slow for whatever reason (we could blame the no fall camp or whatever, but it doesn't matter) but he really did start looking better -- both measurably and intangibly -- from late february on.

i really think devin is a player who has bene a victim of circumstance throughout his whole career. as was pointed out, he has been asked three times to fill the shoes of a probably future hall of famer, and he went from being the pet project of an NBA finalist to being on one of the perennial joke franchises. i don't blame him for admitting that NJ took some passion out of his game. it would take the passion out of mine, too.

I think his beef with Corbin ultimately sealed his fate in Utah. I don't think he liked playing here, but he was always a pro publically.

Never liked him on the Jazz but I wish him luck in ATL.

Harris was a professional here in Utah and I wish him the best of luck. I hope he feels inspired to play good basketball again and leaves knowing the fact that Jazz fans are the best fans in the nation. I also can't blame him how he felt in NJ because the organization was a disaster, Utah must have been a breath of fresh air for him. I feel bad that he is always on the trading block, so the guy just needs to find the right team to excel. Did anyone notice how much better his game was after the trade deadline? Once he can settle down in a respectable organization again, he will do just fine.

I also hope that his last dunk/floor slapping was here in Utah cause it'll show he had the passion to play here.

I know Harris expressed that he was confused as how Corbin wanted him to play in the beginning of the season. I don't think there was a "beef" though.
