And I can easily argue that Harris + Favors+ Kanter will get 57 points in a game someday.
Kanter can already outrebound Deron's total from today.
Harris can already out assist Deron's assists total from today.

What Deron can't do is emphatically block a layup like Favors, box out a 255lb center like Kanter, or use his length and size to bother opponents on the defensive end of the floor.

Also, you guys do realize that it took Deron Williams 57 points for the Nets to beat Charlotte. Charlotte!!!

harris has gotten more assists than deron did tonight 3 times out of 35 games.... and comparing it to derons assist total on a night where he took almost 30 shots and still managed to get 7 assists to teammates who combined for the rest of the team couldnt manage to score as much as deron did.

the starters he was playing with were a collective 31% compared to his 55%. when he is with dwight... it will be scary.

our 4 assets may be able to add up to one guy, but he has the ability to do that, and still have 4 other guys out there to contribute. it takes basically 4 guys on our team to equate to his stat line.... pair him with 4 decent players and its a slaughter fest in this game.

My point is the Nets gave up great assets for Williams....that's why his teammates suck and why our (future) is good.
And I know Harris isn't as great a distributor as Williams. But if we're just looking at 1 game and ignoring the rest (which we are in this thread) then it still works.
Deron's still had an overall crappy season with the Nets. He's #1 in turnovers/game and in assists/turnovers in the NBA. He's also shooting a career low in FG%

I love Deron, but the past is past. Fact is, if we didn't have Favors, Kanter, and Burks (which we would'nt if we kept Deron) then the future would be bleak with the Jazz. We'd constantly be getting burned on our frontline and frontline bench. Al and Sap would play overtime to make up for what Favs and Kanter do

have to agree with this, but also to take into account, if williams was with our offense his %'s would be higher because of the system, but he would never have the freedom to take 30 shots in the jazz offense, and we would never see this performance from him anyways.
 
Not to mention the fact that we don't know what the Golden State pick will turn into. What if we land an All-Star-caliber PG with it (a D-Will eventual replacement) ? Who got the better of the deal then?

Dude, you should totally come to my gym. I have the membership just for those huge floor to ceiling mirrors. I go for an hour a day just to bask in my glorius cheeks. Sometimes I sit on the most popular machines too for like hours man. These superbrute craid2112 types get really pissy so I put it on 5 pounds or something and do a zillion reps while alternating smiles between them and my beautiful self.

There are guys there who go 57, 7 and 6 every day too but I don't watch cause there aren't any mirrors in that gym.

After tonight, Deron Williams NOW has three 40+ point games under his belt. Congratulations to Deron.
Took him a while, but he finally did what Devin's already accomplished. Better late than never.
Of course, Deron lost one of those games, while Devin is undefeated when going for 40+.

Meh, that all equated to a 3 point win over the Bobcats. Nice for Deron and all, but I'd much rather see Harris/Kanter/Favors each get 20 points in the same game, which I can definitely see (though the latter two in a year or so).

You can sit on a machine all day, for all I care...

Oh, and I do think the jazz knew what they were doing. Deron was not going to re-sign here. My bet is that he ends up in Dallas, where he always wanted to be. And why not? It's his hometown.
