Harris rumour

Sorry if posted before, but this is from a poster @ insidehoops.com:

Just thought I'd throw this info out there... I've heard indirectly from Harris' trainer that all training sessions in Utah have been called off (i.e. Harris must've been told he's being traded, so there's no point continuing workouts with the Jazz). Could be a complete rumor, but it sounds like something is up.

If true, the Jazz must be planning on moving up in the draft and getting either Lillard or Marshall. (Or some other guard.) So don't be surprised if someone else ends up with Harris today. :)

I call BS. No way the Jazz tell Harris to quit training because they 'might' have a deal put together .. and no way they have a deal already put together, tell Harris, but no one else.

I smell HH in this one.

None of the comments in the OP was my own, I was just quoting from the IH-post. But didn`t Lowry and his agent say sort of the same thing a couple of days ago?

I think it's pretty legit that something like this would happen. But I have no opinion on whether the rumor specific to Harris is true.

I have no idea if the rumor is true, but KOC always tries to keep trade details under wraps. That way, if a deal falls through, you don't have fences to mend with angry players. It's likely if a deal involves picks, the trade wouldn't be announced until after the selections have been made. It's much more advantageous to swap the rights to a player than the actual pick(s) due to the rule about trading 1sts in successive years.

Harris is an expiring, so a team could certainly use him as a one-year fill-in.

I'm still clinging to the hope that changes will be made. It certainly sounded like KOC had some balls in play at the deadline last season, but Howard staying in Orlando, and making his decision so late, interfered with a lot of deals.

Maybe the GS trade rumor?

If Utah didn't tell Deron Williams that there was a trade brewing, they are not going to tell Harris. Plus, if they are getting Lillard or Marshall, it would make sense for them to play behind Harris for a season (unless part of the trade was getting a veteran PG back).

was harris one of the players at P3 this summer? if so, maybe that's what it's referring to. other than that, i can't imagine harris is doing anything directly supported by the franchise in late june.

PKM said there was a trade between GS and Utah that wouldn't be made public until the draft. That could involve Harris. They told Harris that he is traded but to keep it on the down low.

Wow, I hope it's true. That would make a lot of sense for both teams. Harris fits the style of basketball GS plays. They could use another veteran on that team.
GS would be loaded with Harris, Bogut, Lee, etc. Probably means Biedrins would be sent to Utah. I guess I could live with that. He's a bit cheaper than Harris and if Jefferson gets traded at some point, Biedrins could get a shot backing up Kanter. Always a risk that his game is completely gone, but what the heck, you'd be getting a starting PG (if Lillard is still available) or a starting SF on a rookie contract to offset the amount owed to Biedrins.

Good deal for both teams, IMO. I'll keep my fingers crossed.
