Has Kanter improved every game in the summer league?

I don't know if 7 turnovers today can be regarded as improvement. But yes, he did not get any shots blocked today comparing to at least two a game before so that is a progress.

Just glancing at the statistics, he seems to have.

He gets most of his offense from running plays. So as the team gets better at running stuff (and showcasing talent less) he improves. Similar on Defense. better team play helps everyone play better D. Like on the first game it looked like nobody was calling high picks on stockton's man. He was getting beat on. It is little stuff that can make big differences in how someone plays.

7 to's from a guy who almost never passes is not progress.

Disagree. He's a big man..... **** happens in summer league when players that will never get a chance actually get one.

Do I have to say "duh"?

NBA players have targets on their chests in any kind of off-season league.

Duh, he should totally turn it over 7 times when playing mostly d-leaguers and non-draftees... I mean, what else would you expect from a #3 draft pick? That he can actually keep the ball in his hands? Youre right, after playing these premier basketball players he will coast through those NBA level players.

Yes. He looked quicker today. I honestly think in his case the sluggishness we often see from him is more from when he's indecisive than it is a physical thing.
I'd guess his touches have also gone up, which can cause more TO's...

Not sure all of those are really Kanters fault. I know at least 2 times he went to pass out of the double in the post and the player on the wing had shifted to the top of the key giving him no passing angle and the pass got stolen, they were not great passes but you at least have to give him a chance to get it to you.

Indecisive, perhaps, but basketball requires quick reaction, which is in part mental. So, maybe but then maybe he's just not naturally quick, and that's something you can't teach like height. Yet no matter how tall you are, if you don't have quickness you aren't going to be a good basketball player. On the other hand, a guy 5-3 like Muggsy can succeed because he is quick.

I didn't get to see today's game .. and reading this thread makes me no more knowledgable. Do you guys think he's a bust? Still just too young?

People are deeming him a bust, because, you know, as a young guy, he shouldn't be making young guy mistakes.

The 7to's thing seems problematic.. Any real analysis there? Was he forcing passes, dribbling too much??

One thing about TO's is that you're just not used to the other guys in summer league. You don't know if they'll cut to the basket or make themselves available if you have to kick it out. I was surprised at the 7 TO's. Didn't seem that high. Kanter got a pretty quiet double-double. Couple of nice moves, beat his man down the court on a fast break and had a nice finish, but nothing spectacular. I suspect that is how most games for Kanter will go. He'll play 20 mins, finish with 8-10 pts and 6-8 rbds and we'll be surprised.

We know what Kanter can do with his size and rebounding. But it's clear his low post game is a long ways away, and it's unclear he'll ever have one. He's a very slow, mechanical post player at this stage of his development. You can actually see him think, "I'm going to try this move on this possession", not make moves based on what he's reading from the defender.
