Hassan Whiteside

The Kings waived Hassan Whiteside. I'd invite him to camp or pick him up. He's got real length and decent athleticism, and he could play some center next to Favors for spot minutes. He's bulked up some since college. I just don't think that Kings team knows how to utilize talent. Whiteside has looked pretty good during summer leagues.

If Jefferson or Millsap are on the way out (Which looks doubtful now at least until the trade deadline or as a FA next year) then I would jump all over this. Whiteside as our 4th big off the bench would be perfect. Fez was our 4th big for a few seasons and I was fine with that so if we can get him as that, and at the right price, jump on that like PKM on a big white girl, which is quick!

Sign him to a Hashem Thabeet like contract. Let him play with Favors, and Evans. The jazz may never score a basket but the neither would the other team.

I liked him, but only if the Jazz had traded back and gotten two firsts. I though he was worth picking as high as the late teens.

Supposedly he always had attitude and motivation issues. If he hasn't matured enough to get minutes with the KINGS (Evans, Cousins, etc.) I doubt he would get off the bench here.

My guess on Whiteside is he has another year, maybe 2 at most, where he gets a job as a pet project. After that, he'll be well advised to have his passport updated, and it could happen as soon as this year.
