Nothing would make me chose Conley and pay him 33 mil a year for next two years.Until he plays like he did in Portland and your tune will change.

Did Rudy get cheered extra hard during the game? I wasn't able to watch

Do you think he's on the trading block or not? If so why?
Doubt Rubio would command more than 20mil/year. Maybe he can be signed for 16 mil a year for extra year or so. Like give him 3 years/50 mil deal and it is a steal.I agree, 100%! Not paying Conley 33 million a year when we can have Rubio for what, 23 million per year?

With the money saved we can get another player to pick up the slack and still win as many if not more games, playoff and otherwise, for the 10 million bucks saved. Reminds me of what the Thunder have done in picking up Schroeder to rest Westbrook, or compliment him! Thunder doing very well with Schroeder on the team now!

10m is fine, since he can come off the bench when we get an upgrade.
You've been saying the same for some time now, but neither of those things is happening. Rubio won't sign with the Jazz for 10M per year and he won't do it to come off the bench in the near future. That's not the reality of the market and that's clearly not his idea at this point in his career. And as stated in my previous message, the Jazz may well end up striking out in free agency and wishing they had a starter as good as Rubio next season. Be careful what you wish for.
I'd rather roll with Exum the scrub than be stuck with Rubio at 3/50.
And that's perfectly fine. Even if you may not think the same should the Jazz be a worse team next year because they lack a proper PG, that's your opinion right now and you're entitled to it. I just don't think we should debate around hypotheticals that are really unlikely to happen, like the low salary and the bench role.
I agree. His inconsistency is maddening. I do like parts of his game (his defense, his layups at the rim, and the occasional brilliant pass), and think he is a great teammate and good for locker room chemistry. But man alive he can single handedly cost the team games as often as he can win them.If we re-sign Rubio for anything even close to $23 million a year then Dennis Lindsey should be fired.
I think we're gonna get outbid for Ricky. I bet Chicago or some other desperate team throws him something like 5 years, 50 million or something like that.
Why would you worry how much he is getting paid? In your scenario we are worse team and how is that any better than paying Rubio fair market value?I'd rather roll with Exum the scrub than be stuck with Rubio at 3/50.
Why would he sign to be come off the bench over some upgrade? I think it is clear that if Jazz are getting upgrade they will let Ricky walk as they have committed to Exum as their backup PG. Or in your scenario we would be paying Rubio 10mil to be backup and Exum 9mil to be a 3d string PG? Makes 0 sense to me.10m is fine, since he can come off the bench when we get an upgrade.

You're right. I meant 2 years, 50 million with a team option for year 2. He's gonna get a JJ Reddick-like contract from someone. That would only be $10 million a year...he's definitely getting more than that.
First off games with most points scored as the measure for how well he played is a terrible measure. Secondly, those weren't his top 10 game scores. These were:Out of curiosity, since i never noticed a trend of Rubio playing well against bad team (it's seemed the opposite really) I looking at last year's game logs. Ricky's top 10 Game Scores were against: Spurs, Lakers, Grizzlies, Warriors, Pelicans, Spurs, Trailblazers, Timberwolves, Suns, Timberwolves. Really only 1 scrub team on that list.
