Kanter could have been voted as a top sixth man for opposing teams last year.
When it's all said and done, I'm betting Mrs. Hayward is more Fabienne than Masha.

He can play for his old college coach.
We can offer him $47M more than another team. That is with an added year but say we throw him that fifth year as a player option to tell him don't look elsewhere. It is easy for morons who have no money to say he won't make a decision based on money... I make good money... not PKM money, but good... I have had an income goal in my head that would make me happy for 10 years. Last year I hit it... now all I can think about (business wise) is how to triple that number.
It's human nature to want to make more and no person walks past 47M to hang with their college coach. I have a lot of friends I'd love to work with... I wouldn't give up 25% of my income to work with them.
We are also the best basketball situation... you could argue SA but kwahi and Hayward aren't an amazing fit.
Day of the Celtics game, Hayward retweets a Utah Jazz tweet saying: "Indiana's Finest reside in SLC and we couldn't be happier" and tagging Hayward, Hill, and Lyles.
Hayward is subtle in his social media habits, but he knows that any time the Jazz play the Celtics it whips up speculation on his free agency, given his relationships with Stevens and rumors that the Celtics want to acquire him.
Hayward doesn't tweet often or haphazardly - this was calculated. I really, really think he resigns - have always thought that, but this is just another small piece of evidence.
But can you tell me how much we can give him more PER YEAR? I know we can offer him an addiitonal fifth year, but he could easily get that from another contract, right?
I just want to know what he can get from us PER YEAR more than another team can give him, forgetting about the additional year for a minute to level the playing field.
I don't think he could easily get that... will be his 12th year in the league. It would be a player option and would have value to him for sure. We can give him 8% raises versus 5%... a little bit of dough but the fifth year is key.
I don't get how fifth year is key?
If he stays with the Jazz he gets 5 year. Yes I get that. But if he goes to BOS he gets 4 years, but after that 4th year he can hit FA and sign another 4 year contract, no?
He's a professional athlete. Injuries, regression, mental breakdowns happen... I'd want the fifth year there as a security blanket. There are no gurantees he gets that much after four years.
But one could also argue the Cap may increas by the time the 4 year contract runs out and he can get a much higher raise with a new 4 year contract? Also there is a freedom that comes with being in a free agency after the 4 year contract, so if the team you're in sucks you get to choose a new team?
But other than those, the only monetary incentive to stay would be 8% vs 5% raise, and the insurance of the 5th year contract, right?
Wow what? Explain? What are you talking about 5 years? If I'm not mistaken the Jazz should be able to offer 6 years under the new CBA

That is why it is a player option for the fifth year. It all adds up to 47M... there are other scenarios where it makes more sense but if the five year contract confuses you... those will make your head spin.
