Hayward starting in place of AK tonite!

Hopefully we show some more energy as a team. I thought Raja would have been the starter going to the bench.

Hopefully Hayward will bring a lot of energy and help spark the first unit. I really like the kid and am glad he's getting his confidence out on the court but I just wish he'd run harder and make sharper cuts in the offense. That would be my only real gripe with him at the moment. However, I'm up for any change to the starting 5 sans Deron if it means we don't sleepwalk through the 1st and 3rd quarters only to try to turn it on with 5 minutes to go in the game.

Hopefully the rook steps it up and can hold the starting spot for a while. If he can, this move will pay major dividends come playoff time.

This is a classic Sloan/Jazz move: it concerns itself more with system than with talent. That is fine with me, but I don't think this makes a significant impact. And, if AK goes into hiding as a result, then this could be a mistake (assuming that this isn't all because of an injury).

Too bad Hayward isn't joined by CJ

Ak will be dumped at the deadline, so the Jazz aren't all that concerned anymore.

Having made the switch, Sloan now needs to stick with it and give Hayward meaningful minutes, even if his play is inconsistent, so that this is more than just a token change.

Have at it Gordo!!! Buena suerte!

Hmm, we'll see how Kirilenko responds. I'm still not sold on Hayward, but he did play well against Boston. I think they could have gone one better by starting Price instead of Raja. Price is not good at running the show, but he does bring energy and he's just as good defensively, imo.

AI having a field day with Hayward on him early. But the Jazz are close in the first. something that they haven't been lately so maybe this is a good move

If we're using the standard "Jazzfanz CJ Performance Scale" (aka "He's young -- give him 5 or 10 years before passing any judgment"), then he was plenty impressive.

This is full of win.
