Hayward to Boston

I'm sure IT and Gordon's personalities are going to mesh real well...

Umm. Nope. Gobert with the 23rd pick? Hood was one of the better grabs in his class. He missed on Trey burke, but that was Corbin. Lyles was disappointing but no gm gets everyone right. I don't get the hate.

Dennis did way more right than wrong. He can't see into the future but he looks a step or two ahead of most gms.

What pisses me off is that hayward made his IN SPITE of the fact that the team, the management, the trainers, quin, Dennis, Bryant, teammates, fans, and even the massage therapist helped him grow from a boy to a man. IN SPITE OF ALL THAT he left because he felt like Boston will be better because 35 years ago they had Bill Russell. That doesn't mean squat now.

Instead he is going to a team that has to drop 5 or 6 players to get him. Olynyk is given the boot. Smart is bait. Others are bait. Crowder or brown are suddenly 4th string small forwards?!?!?! And Hayward is all buddy buddy with the coach? I am sorry, but he left comradery for potentially very nasty politics. He is putting a number of guys out of work. The Celtics could care less. And I agree, when things get rough... If Hayward doesn't deliver...

I expect he will regret this decision a lot in the dog days of the year. When he becomes trade bait because of whatever reason, I can only say that the grass wasn't greener.

PS. Lyles isn't going to get any minutes in denver. The whole team is full of stretch fours. He was already trade bait in a proposal. Idiot. So wish we had drafted Booker.

Also, I have one more thing I will repeat on this board several times... Hayward under Corbin years didn't get much better. Hayward's growth came under bryant, quin, and Dennis. If we could do that to gordon in 3 years, what can we do with gobert in 7? Mitchell in 3? Etc.

Our management will be hear long after Hayward.

This is so stupid man. Yes I'm still in grief/denial mode. So stupid.

Did Hayward even have friends on this current team beside the forced relationship with Jingles because they both had kids?

lmao

I think Hayward was friends with everyone, especially Ingles, but just kept to himself mostly. I dont think his friendship with Ingles was forced at all. It seemed pretty genuine.

You're right I'm probably reaching. Just seems like Gordon has always been cold and distant to everyone around him. I'm probably finding anyway to dismiss him at this point. I'm probably wrong.

Why is Hood a great pick? He's an average player and the obvious pick. Only a moron would have passed on Hood.

Why are you even a Jazz fan? So did 23 other GMs. Maybe you should apply since you are so smart. It is easy to play Monday night quarterback and say what should have been done. If Hayward left because the Jazz didn't offer him the Max then good riddance. He didn't deserve the MAX back then since he was coming off his worse season if I recall.

Gordon left because he wants attention or his wife hated Utah He wants the easier route. Utah can't change who they are no more than OKC can. KD wanted more exposure and an easier path to a championship and that is what Hayward is thinking. Problem is that he isn't as good as KD nor are the Celtics as good as the Warriors or Cavs so he is still out of luck.

It was GOrdon choice and he has to live with it. He owns it 100 percent so stop making lame excuses like not giving him a MAX contract was the reason why he chose Boston over Utah.

I have to say, Robyn posting letters from 7th graders and Gordon's dad tweeting the Stayward video starts to look like a ploy for Hayward to gain leverage in negotiations. It looks like the Jazz got played.

Lack of loyalty? Who told him to go get an offer?

Who never traded for a key piece?

Who drafted poorly?

What team was consistently at the bottom of the NBA in payroll?

Loyalty was thrown out the window when DL sent Hayward looking for a deal.

If Utah was "loyal" Hayward would be under contract for another year.

I'm telling you - Hill was the straw that broke the camel's back.

Jazz picked up a glorified back-up PG and tried to dress it up as a forward move so they can save some money long term.

Players don't give a **** about advanced metrics like wins about replacement - they care about wins above losses. Hill is a proven winner and leader. Rubio is not.

I'm ticked Hayward is gone - and the way he handled today was a cluster **** at best. But in the end, can you blame him?

This sucks hose pretty hard. There really is no heart, no romance left in sport and definitely no loyalty. Feel sorry for the people who have supported and invested in this bloke.

Hayward is gone today because DL tried to get cute and let Hayward go find his own deal. That's a fact.

DL screwed up. His drafting sucks (and KOC as an extension).

If we drafted better, he's still here. If we made better trades, he's still here. If we signed him to a max deal, he's still here.

This is on DL, not Hayward.

You are embarrassing yourself. Its not 'a fact' when you base your arguments on 'what if' (if DL had drafted X player, had traded for PG, had done this or that). Those are not facts just conjectures.

Why do you want to place the blame on DL? He has done a great job in building this team. Not offering the 4 max seems like a mistake in hindsight but you need to be fair and remember the context: GH was coming from a disappointing season as 'the man'. He was unlikely to get a max offer. At the time it was also uncertain he was going to become a franchise guy. It could have been AK47's contract mistake all over again. Also no one on the league (GMs, players and agents) imagined that the jump in cap space would make any contract at the time look like a bargain a couple years later.

Anyway, stop trying to blame one side and calling 'facts' hypothetical situations. Jazz management and coaching staff did a terrific job in assembling this team. Hayward just decided to leave for his own personal reasons.

What is Rudy listening to? Can't understand.
You tube "Loyal" by Chris brown. The song is awesome (one of my all time favs) and the video is pretty awesome too.

Lol. I don't think Hill had anything to do with it. He was going to Boston no matter what. Hill isn't the reason.

So the Jazz have no accountability here?

None of this is Utah's fault?

Boston is better. Better organization, better city, after endorsements come in, better money.

Utah's had plenty of chances to get better and they messed up. This is their consequence.

Maybe having the lowest payroll in the NBA the last two years wasn't the brightest idea in hindsight.

plenty of chances to get better ... so explain 23 wins, 38 wins, 42 wins, 51 wins .... .... ?????

We'll find out. The year Rubio was out with ACL the Wolves went 16-66. The year before that when healthy, 40-42.

You are correct on Boston media.

I was there on a biz trip years ago after Pats got railed by KC on Sunday or Monday nite. Next day talk radio wanted Brady and Belicheck out of town (2 more super bowls since that day). They are nasty.

I will say this , I didn't think Hayward had the nuts to go to that tough market.

He looks like a kid but his RFA year he bet on himself and got a Max offer from Charlotte (NEVER did I think he would get a Max)

This year I thought he would play it safe and stay here, but he didn't.

I wish him luck but I am getting sick of the Rudy love. Let's see what Rudy does as an UFA. If he stays then he can speak.

Right now Rudy looks like an *** because he did not control his destiny.

Fans are like "Hayward should have told us he was leaving". Owners vs. players I always root for players. You think owners give a flip about many players ? They are pawns. Hayward is lucky to be in the top 5% that are treated not like pawns.....

He busted his *** and helped us get to 2nd round of playoffs.

He made a family decision to move on .... let's not make this more than it is
Rudy looks like an ***?
Um, **** you
