Hayward vs Kanter as a number one option

Kanter is also playing with 1.5 assists so far (alongside his 17.8 points and 9.5 rebounds). He has turned the ball over 14 times already this season with a 3.5 average (half in the last Nets game). It appears, he will make a living out of mid-rangers so he needs to learn to take care of the ball posting high, when the defending backcourt like D-Will lurks towards him to an easy double team success. Needs to learn not to wait too long actionless on post-ups, low or high.

you explain the situation pretty well abim. İ agree with you and i want to add that enes kanter gets few touches he needs more. he is out of shape and he puts 17.5 pts 9.5 rebs and 1.5 rebs , you can say it's 4 games but, it's not
like he has a shooting stroke or smth. he knows offensive part of
game very well and we have to thank BİG AL.

Right now it is Kanter with Hayward 1B but the Jazz need to get a legitimate number one in this draft. A guy who can stroke the three and get to the basket when he needs to get to it.

Kanter's TOs hopefully will decrease as he gets experience and as he gets a true PG who can set him up better.

Didn't know CAKAR was your alt.

lol i hate big al but he influenced kanter

Yeah, he did. He was really a good mentor for him and despite all the rookie haze he unleashed upon him, he really made him feel not lonely and mentally embody with the collectivity we now call the Jazz Nation. Actually, the hazing did a good part in that too. And you gotta take the good out of tough situations in things like these. Like not being able to play for 3 or 4 years in a decent role. Kanter is still a kid. But he will eventually grow. Hope his character don't become a spoiled show-off like he was before. I really appreciate him celebrating the most important national day and thanking his Turkish fans that come to support him.

Kanter is looking more and more like a guy we'll have to give the MAX to.

We are a long way out before that happens. Kanter looks promising, but so much could happen between now and then. We haven't even seen Trey Burke yet, and we will have a top 10 draft pick as well next year. It could be that Kanter develops and is a max guy. Or Burke comes in, P&R's like Nash, Favors blows up and Kanter goes all Memo on the Pistons. Or Wiggins comes in, dominates, and Kanter is AK'ed and told to stand at the three point line and don't move.

I still think Burke will be our #1 option. He will dominate the ball (as he should) and run the P&R and teams will cover Kanter and Favors more until he proves himself, which means more shots for him.

It's only one game, but in the GS game, he took the most shots. That didn't surprise me at all. It is his game. He can score. He can set others up after he gets going. Don't expect him to change, especially when this team doesn't really have a #1 option. Someone has to shoot the ball. Burke is probably our best option.

I still stand by this. I don't even think we have seen the "real" Jazz yet, good or bad.
