His average stats?

21:01 minutes per game, 10.8 points per game on 61.9% (13 of 21) shooting, 33% (2 of 6) from three, 92.9% (26 of 28) from the line, 3.4 rebounds per game, 1.4 assists per game, 0.8 blocks per game, 0.8 steals per game, 1.4 turnovers per game, 1.6 personal fouls per game, 0.4 blocks against

Those are damn good stats. Equate those into starters minutes and he's filling up the stats sheet. But I know, I know, it's just summer league. Anyway, hope you guys liked the stats. Hopefully, I didn't make any errors.

Summer league stats do have value.

Almost everyone who has done good in summer league has done good in NBA action.

Almost everyone who has stunk it up in summer league has not done very good in NBA action.

Qyntel Woods would like a word with you.

Hayward has good potential and will fill a role, but the Jazz have a huge need at Center and with out one they will be mediocre at best

Hello do you remember last year..Hiow did wesley matthews look? If you think summer league stats have value then your not a very bright basketball fan..Its an organized pick up game that usually the guards and wing players get the most shots.....It just pick up ball..These guys dont know what their teamates like to do on the court so its hard to judge..Mostly so teams can teach youngsters their systems

Stats don't always show how a player will be on the NBA level, but Hayward did look solid. I for one think he will be a good "role" player for the jazz and will need a few years to develop, that said you will see him on the floor consistently this year.

GH has been efficient thus far - I also like the fact he isn't foul-prone. It will be interesting to see how he progresses and how he plays with the 'real Jazz team'. I also think GH will thrive against teams who play undisciplined defense...

I did say almost everyone. So there are exceptions.

I only watched 2 of the games but it's hard not to like him. All the intangibles stuff, his awareness mostly, did seem to translate. I think back to the pass he made in transition in one game on the break (yeah, I guess this is a little vague but I can't quite remember the team. It was early in the game, though.) 95% of guys getting the ball where he did, on a dead sprint, would not have seen the guy on the other wing. Even if they did, they probably would have gone up themselves. He made a very nice pace the millisecond he got the ball. I know it's one play. But that sold me on him more than anything else I saw.

Duh. The Jazz have a HUGE hole at C, but they had a choice to make. Take a player that has the potential to be an 18 pt, 6 reb a night guy at best, and a 12 pt, 6 reb guy a night at worst, or take a chance on a Center that has the potential to be a 12 pt, 10 reb a night guy or an actual bust that never plays in the NBA. Hmmm. I would rather be OKC and CHI passing on the big guy for the better talent than Portland drafting for need.

Yeah, some people thought it was smart to draft Oden over Durrant (like myself) because 'big' is hard to find. Hopefully I'm wrong about Hayward too, I like what I see so far.

Wow.........

Well, he sure outplayed other top picks, like Paul George and Turner, whose shooting % was about half of Hayward's. Gordon needs to add 10 lbs of muscle and get stronger, but it's hard not to get excited after seeing him perform. 3 point shot is still a suspect, but so far, so good. And btw, remember how some were saying we need big guys more than wing players? Well, now we lost Korver and will likely lose Wes, it looks like we only have AK and CJ at the SG/SF position. At least at PF/C we have veterans Okur/Millsap/Koufos/Fess. I would say Hayward is filling the biggest roster need at this point - and the best talent that was available. All around great pick, it looks like.

Per 48 stats...

24.68 ppg, 7.7 rpg, 3.2 apg, 1.83 bpg, 1.83 spg, 3.2 tpg, 3.66 pfpg, 0.91 bapg

Not mind-blowing but given the nature of these games, his limited personal fouls is excellent. His blocked shots and rebounding numbers are also pretty solid.
