HC candidates

Interesting to hear Ainge admit that there's some uncertainty in what direction the franchise is going to go right now so there might be some hesitancy among some coaching candidates. He also so there is a lot of interest in the job and there are people who would die to have this job.

Its just hilarious... Like Cleveland is still buzzing about having Garland and Allen in the AS game when they hosted. Charlotte is so thankful they had Kemba when they hosted... its been such a huge boost to their team building.

It shouldn't even be a factor and I swear its driving our decisions... it comes up with every person that covers the team... its absolutely true and its the dumbest **** since drafting Udoka and signing Favs.

I'm still hoping this ASG narrative is just a smokescreen.

Its not at all. LOL. Its been consistent and I've heard it from TJ, Andy, Spence, Locke... national folks. TJ then backed off it and called it ridiculous... but now he's out here saying it again. Its real 100%

I know he interviewed for the BYU head coaching job back in 2019 and reportedly had the backing of Danny Ainge.
I hate us so much... this is going to happen. This is like when I like 10 players around where we are drafting and HATE only one guy in our range... and we end up taking the guy I hate.

Anyone else curious about Will Hardy? Has a similar story to Spoelstra. Video coordinator for like 7 years and coaching for 3. Spurs fans were upset to lose him. And Boston fans are really hoping not to lose him yet either. Guess he was really a rising star in the Spurs organization.

This isn't Ryan Smith's first rodeo when it comes to hiring personnel. Whoever gets hired needs to be in line with the corporate goals as far as the basketball team goes. The goal might be make the playoffs and average X attendance while staying out of the luxury tax. If that means running Spida off so be it. I have the feeling the coaches and the bosses haven't been on the same page for awhile.

it seems like things are moving quickly. Listening to Ainge he made it pretty clear they don't want to crap on Spida but he also made it clear that he and his people aren't running things either.

I just hope this decision doesn’t hinge on either Mitchell’s final approval or, either alternately or commensurately, skin color. If in fact we are determined to take the Darvin Hamm route and go with youth and enthusiasm over experience, I think Alex Jensen is the most deserving candidate.

I think if Alex was the apple of their eye he would already be named HC by now. It's weird that they are interested in a Phoenix assistant supposedly because he and Ainge went to the same Ward. There is another Phoenix assistant who is a two time GLeague coach of the year and crickets.

Good point Homey. Ryan Smith and his damn Mormon pipeline (Holly Rowe now moonlighting at ESPN). I don’t know which is worse, racial or religious discrimination.o_O
