Here's a pretty thing: Jazz currently 16th in Pace

After deservedly gaining the reputation as a slug-it-out possession team, the Jazz are flying up the pace charts, currently ranked at 16.

Obviously this will affect our overall defensive rankings, but it is a welcome addition and shows the growing confidence in Quinn's system. It is also important with as deep as the bench is to use a higher game pace to our advantage. It looks like the Jazz are playing looser as well, which probably comes from us running it back with teammates who are finally getting familiar with one another.

and this includes that game we played against Memphis too

I believe that game was played in a muddy field with deflated basketballs.

I'm now more optimistic about how the Jazz played against the Warriors considering they are currently boat racing every opponent since that game. Slightly better 4th quarter play and the Jazz get them.

Since we’re talking stats, some way too early and therefore fairly meaningless ones show we are:

  • 6th in scoring margin at +6.3 ppg...the Clippers are 3rd at +9.2 wtf.
  • 13th in offensive efficiency at 1.071. This would’ve placed us 7th last season. Could be the sample size, could be the rule changes. We were 16th last season at 1.049.
  • 5th in defensive efficiency at 1.010. This is slightly better than the 1.013 with which we led the league last year.
