Hill is Out for Heat at Jazz

We beat them without Hill on the road on a 2nd day of b2b...

Just watch you bish (unless you are watching the God Dak Prescott instead, then you are excused.)

Ha. I'm pretty busy right now and daughter has a performance tonight... watching the game mean losing sleep. I have a pretty good sense for this stuff.... I'll check the score at halftime and make my decision.

Dragic is playing tonight right? That changes things. I think we still win but some of these ugly wins can be really ugly.

I call it the Carlos Boozer curse. It happened when CB (with our help) gave Cleveland the shaft. If you think about it, that's when it all started, and it's never let up. The Jazz were virtually immune to player injury before that.

Oh ****... you are right. How do we exorcize the curse? They can have boozer back.

But we should have reversed that curse when our late kind hearted Owner agreed to release a conniving Derek Fisher out of his contract so he could go to the Lakers and win a championship.

Then they saw how the fan base acted.

Butler missed 11 games in the span of 3 weeks with turf toe in 2013. Stephon Marbury missed all 8 final games with turf toe in the 2007 season. Some others have missed anywhere between 1 to 4 games.

Stephon Marbury has the most messed up toes I've ever see on any athlete. Cant find any pics but I'm sure if someone digs it up you'll see what i'm talking about. His toes are like alot of offensive linemans fingers.

He's certainly on the extreme end of the turf toe spectrum.

Is that Hill's diagnosis? Turf toe?

Isn't turf toe another term for sprained toe? I assumed it is. I might be wrong on this one, and if I am ignore my previous post. Checking now - it seems that turf toe is one of the severe versions of sprained toe, so it might not be as serious as Butler or Marbury's injuries.

Yeah you're right. Turf toe is specific to the big toe which is where the injury is. It covers ligaments, tendons, or bone damage.

I think turf toe is a more severe sprain... like an ankle sprain versus a high ankle sprain. I've had both ankle sprains... one I played on the next day the other required 6 weeks of rehab. Hopefully he doesn't have turf toe... I think it's a sit out for a few weeks or else it never gets better thing. Hopefully just a mild sprain.

I'm still sad doe.

This is pretty funny and sounds about right for how the Jazz handle media with injuries:

Media: How long is so and so out?
Snyder: Ask the training staff.
Media: You won't let us talk to them.
Snyder: Oh yeah. So and so is out.

I am guessing DJJazzyJody gets complaints a lot from Jazz fans about not reporting info on injuries. Not much they can do. Although I would rather hear reports of asked again for the 1000th time about Burks and the answer is still he is out indefinite.

Right on, what performance for your daughter? Dance? How old?

Against the heat who are missing 3 of their top 8, probably any top 10 team.

Maybe so but I think overall most teams would struggle a lot more than us. Hill is our top player this season, and I think Favors is our 3rd or 4th best player. Hood is our 5th and Burks is our 6th. That would leave a team like GS with Curry, Clark, Looney, Green and Mcgee as their starters with almost no bench players worth a ****. Cavs would be a starting lineup of Kyrie, Smith, Jefferson, Frye and Chris Anderson with garbage second unit of Dunleavy, Jones, Felder and Liggins.

Those two teams might win some games and might beat a bad Miami team missing a couple players in Waiters and Winslow but Kyrie or Curry have to have huge games to be in it. Miami has their top 3 players in Whiteside, Dragic and Johnson ready to go and Ellington is back.

Although maybe we should see if we even win first...

Yeah, but the Jazz still have their top 2 players on the team. Gobert and Hayward.

If Cavs still have Kyrie/Lebron
If Warriors still have Curry/KD
If Raptors still have DeRozan/Lowry
If Spurs still have Kahwi/Aldridge

And so on, I think most top 10 teams should beat this team given all the scheduled advantages we have (home-court and they're on short rest).

Hill is in our top 2 this season. Hard to argue otherwise right now, he is killing it for us right now and the biggest factor in winning. Going forward I think our top 2 are Hayward and Favors but I understand the argument for Gobert.
