What's new

Holy ****ing KANTER!!!!

I'm not really sure, I don't have as good of understanding as some people on here (GVC) do about cap stuff. I think 10 million would be the point for me. I would sign him for 10 mil/season, or front load a deal that started at 12 and ended at 10.

I wouldn't sign him if I thought it interfered with our ability to sign the C4, but I don't 10mil/year would.

Yeah maybe do something like what OKC did to keep Collison. Big time front loaded contract. I remember in Durants last year of his rookie contract he got like $14 Million that year and then it dropped big time the next to make room for Durants. Maybe a frontload is the answer. Will also make it easy to trade later if we need to.

I'd totally do that.

(4) 20-yr olds have had 20-20 games
Dwight, Joe Johnson, Dejuan Blair, Shaq & now Kanter.

Unfortunately, Collison's contract was a renegotiate-and-extend. You can't frontload a contract too much, as annual decreases/raises are limited to 7.5% of the first year salary.

5 TO's and 1 assist is amazing passing?

Not to take anything away from his game, it was amazing, but his passing was awful for the most part. Not that it mattered, we had a 20 point cushion for the majority of the game.

Malone holds the league record for TO's in a career. I'd say it was Malone like.

;(. We can't do anything like it?

Amen to that, sir. Kanter really impressed me tonight. I think that we will be just fine next year if we don't have Jefferson. With consistent minutes, I think that Enes can become a Kevin Love-type player. I still like him better at Power Forward than Center because of his outside shooting ability/overall offensive game, while Derrick Favors is more suited for the Center position because of his natural defensive ability and lack of outside shooting ability. Hell, Jeremy Evans was also pretty good tonight (14 points, 9 rebounds, 2 blocks) while he also played some outstanding defense (and showing improved outside shooting ability, which allows him to play small forward or power forward). If we lose Millsap AND Jefferson, it just means more minutes for the Kanter (who is far ahead of Derrick right now offensively)/Favors/Evans combo. With Kanter (#3 overall pick in 2011) and Favors (#3 overall pick in 2010) clearly being our front line of the future (they just need minutes and Derrick needs to learn how to play defense without fouling), I really don't think that we can afford (double meaning) to sign Millsap or Jefferson in the off-season (whenever that happens). I am really looking forward to our upcoming four-game trip next week now, especially if we get Mo Williams back (for the love of god how do Jamaal Tinsley or Earl Watson ever see the court). This NEEDS to be our depth chart when everybody comes back healthy:

PG: Mo Williams (thank god he is coming back), Alec Burks, Earl Watson/Jamaal Tinsley (seriously, there is no way that they deserve minutes over Alec Burks)
SG: Randy Foye, Gordon Hayward, Alec Burks
SF: Marvin Williams (strickly for defense on the opposition's best perimeter player), DeMarre Carroll (who also really impressed me with 19 points and great defense), Jeremy Evans (showed a lot of ability)
PF: Derrick Favors (again, more defense if Jefferson has to start at Center), Paul Millsap (perfect off the bench because he can create his own shot), Jeremy Evans
C: Al Jefferson (for the rest of the season), Enes Kanter (starter next year), Derrick Favors

How did Houston swing the Asik deal then? 5/5/15

It's not hard to disprove such a hyperbolic statement like "Kanters passing is amazing malone like". I hate arguing this anyway. It makes me seem anti-Kanter, when in reality I'm just anti-Dutch.

I think you're accurate most of the time. And I agree. He was sloppy at passing and the early gap led the young team to play less defense than they actually could. Enes tries that stylish pass into the paint when he posts up high, it's a good effort. He will need it. And benefit greatly from it. But he needs time and experience over it.

Has ever a been a player in the NBA that can give you 20+ points and 20+ rebounds and still only averaged less than 15 minutes per game? He could have 30 / 30 if he got more minutes.

I hate Corbin.

I hate the Jazz Front Office.

You have a diamond on the bench that still does not get 15 minutes per game!

The Utah Jazz...
... where wasting young talents happens....

Shhhh...they're trying to convince Enes he's only worth about $5M/per for his next contract.
