What's new

Home Opener: Los Angeles Lakers (1-0) @ Utah Jazz (0-1): 7 PM MT

I dont really see how Mack could get any minutes with a fully healthy team.

That's easy.
Hill starts, Mack is the backup. Exum is third string. (Maybe Exum gets a few minutes at the 2) It wouldn't shock me.

I'd be surprised if that was the case. I think they just like Mack because he is a guy who can get his own shot if needed. You put Exum around Burks and JJ in the 2nd unit and you don't have to worry about that aspect of play enough to want Mack in there.

When Hayward is back, there is no way in hell this happens.

I think Mack is getting more burn for now because of the lack of offensive weapons coming off the bench. Hayward coming back will change that.

Is Burks even going to play this year? I think someone needs to file a missing person report with the SLC police.

LOL Luke Walton is bitching about the refs in his post-game presser.

"They shot 40 free throws, which is a little ridiculous to me. But that's kind of what happens when you play here in Utah."

I think that you, me, and most of jazzfanz feel the same way about Mack and how he should be used when the team is healthy.

However, I have seen many coaches in the nba and college and even other sports who play a less talented player due to things like leadership, intangibles, toughness, experience, etc etc.
Like I said, it wouldn't shock me to see Mack get more minutes than exum when the team is healthy. It's not like exum is lighting it up out there or anything.

If that happened I would be right alongside you on the "WTF" wagon. But it would surprise me.

Mack 's minutes are understandable given our injury situation. I just don't like how ball dominant he seems when he's out there.

My thoughts on the game, just got home from the arena.
Hill is a stud. Good defense good scoring and flow of the offense. I fully expect him to improve each game as he gets more familiar with the team

Favors is playing angry and I really like it. George Hill really seemed to get fired up from Favors' energy.

Rudy is still great on defense. Has no go to move.

Hood got good looks but missed so many threes.

Mack is painful to watch. Good defender but it feels like the offense struggles so much with him at the 1

The game was frustrating big time, we need Hayward and a healthy Favors. Burks would've been huge too. 3 point defense is a concern for me

And our offense is cringeworthy.

Ugly win, but glad they got it. George Hill is a great addition. A total steal for a #12 pick, especially if they can re-sign him. His leadership and fire are huge for this team.

On a total side note, I enjoyed the side interview with Blue Edwards. He's a very positive upbeat guy. On another side note, please don't torture Hayward with sitting in on a segment.
