Honeymoon in Maui

I'm gonna be there in about a week.

Any tips on what to do? I'm planning on driving to Hana, probably go snorkeling, and obviously sex. Only gonna be there for a week, and I'm not PKM rich so my budget is limited.

Thanks friends!

Make a video, have someone hack your account and post it. You and wife become famous and make millions.

You were a good man, Hantlers. Hate to see you muck that up by getting married. But congrats on the nuptials. Now go forth and multiply -and enjoy the heck out of practicing how to do that!

May God bless your travels and your trip.

Just be loose.. have fun, go with the flow. Set a standard for spontaneity. Don't waste a second holding back telling/showng your new bride she is everything. And never stop. Life isn't as much about forks in the road (as most believe), but about staying strong in the narrow path. You CHOSE HER. Never let her feel otherwise.. Hawaii or Montana.

here's something from a Hawaiian icon who died way too soon...

We took a dinner cruise out of Lahaina and it was great. Food beat expectation too. The submarine ride (again out of Lahaina) was blah - wouldn't recommend it. On the way to Hana, in the beginning you can do a hike through the jungle to some waterfalls - very good hike. And of course Luau pig roast show - every resort runs a version of it - ours was at the Westin and we enjoyed it a lot. Enjoy it, Maui is great.

Do you happen to remember where that hike is at? I would love to do some good hikes.

A honeymoon in Hawaii! Oh, how original and pedestrian. Regardless, congrats on the nuptials and the forthcoming celebration. Be safe!

I think it is this one:

But you might want to try to google some more. We were with a 3 year old that just woke up and it was about to throw up from the road to Hana. I forgot to mention Iao Valley State park - it was pretty cool. We didn't do a tons of stuff we should've done but still had a blast. Whatever you do - you'd have a blast. Maui is one of my favorite spots. And I like action travel, which Maui is not. Enjoy it with your bride.

I had a conference there once when I was fresh out of grad school, so similarly a limited budget. The two coolest things I did (both free) were

(a) I hiked down into the volcano a bit. Don't be stupid and forget to bring water (like me). The drive to the top of the volcano is way cool. The volcano path itself is kind of boring, being just all the same sort of volcanic rock, but hey! it's a volcano! It probably takes about twice as long to hike out as it does to hike in, so allow for the time. I probably hiked in for 45 mins and out for 90 mins because that's all the time I had and the drive took longer than I expected. But it was enough to appreciate it.

(b) I stopped a couple of places and did some hiking in the tropical rainforest on the road to Hana. Unfortunately I don't recall the exact spots. One of them was a maintained park that was pretty cool... it might have been the "Seven Sacred Pools", but I'm not certain. At another spot I'm pretty sure I just stopped by the side of the road where a trail was marked and followed the trail for ~45 mins before turning around and hiking back to the car. It was amazing. Strange and interesting trees I had never seen before, just 50-100 yards off the road. Another spot led to a black sand beach. I think I found out about all of those in a simple "What to see in Maui" book, or something like that.

There you go--the volcano and the tropical rainforest were the big hits for me. Both were breathtaking, in their own ways.

P.S. Congrats on the wedding!

I thought about writing something insulting back, but there's really no need. Anybody who acts like you do on a regular occasion already knows what type of a person he is…there's no reason to remind you. You truly are a petty, little, (emphasis on the little) man.

Hawaii is the place that I want to go to more than anywhere.

I'm jelly.

One day

Enjoy it. This week will be the pinnacle. The new car smell will soon wear off. Upon return, put away all sharp objects and let the neutering begin.
