It is if he is your starting 2-guard. He isnt that on Utah.

I am bummed we didnt get more from him but it was time to move one.

I think Hood has something to prove and will do okay for a little bit but I am glad we dont have to see him hurt all the time. He seems like he cant play through little injuries that every player in the NBA has. Even if he comes out and plays nicked up he plays pretty poorly unless 100% healthy.

I wish him all the best though. He seems like a really nice guy.

Probably backup 4, with some 3. Curious to see who gets more minutes between him and O'Neil.
 
Does Burks get back into the rotation with Hood out, or does Royce (and eventually Exum) get all the backup 2 minutes?
 
Crowder is moving from the Cavs locker room to the Jazz locker room. Talk about changing hell for heaven. Also, from Lue to Snyder. He must be giddy right now.

For those not liking the trade, this post sums it up perfectly. I think most fans complaining that Utah got Raw Dogged are actually more in love with the idea of Rodney, than they are with actual Rodney.

The dude misses games left and right, has some nice stretches, followed by some bad ones, etc.

Crowder is the poster child for what Quin/DL envision this team becoming. He has his weak spots but I think he compliments the current make-up of this team quite nicely and I expect him to be a fan (and player) favorite in no time.

What do you mean? What crow? You think he will average 20ppg for the rest of his career with the Jazz? Or that he will shoot 55% from 3?

I would hope Crowder is happy, or at least will be happy once he gets here.

Our system is much better built for a player like him.

It's up in the air. Hood has more potential obviously, but if Crowder can return to his Boston days he offers some solid play.

I was hoping for a decent pick coming back, but this isn't bad. Of all the players that were rumored to come back in a Hood trade, Crowder was really the only one worth consideration.

Also, for anyone who wants to complain about this move, you better not be one of the dweebs who was booing Hood. I think there's a possibility that Hood requested a trade and this was the best DL could do at this point in time.

In the future, I hope Jazz fans learn to keep their ****ing mouths shut when they feel like booing a player.

It doesn't matter if Hood requested a trade (which there is no indication that he did), he was good as gone anyways. The Jazz were not going to re-sign him in the offseason. This was not Lindsey saying "let me see what I can get since Hood wants out because a few people booed him", this was "let me see what I can get because we cannot afford to pay Hood the contract he is going to get".

There isn't that much difference between the two at their peaks. They're both role players who fit in as the 4th-5th guy in the starting unit or well above average bench players. Ingles is far and away the better 3-pt shooter and playmaker but he's way too reluctant to look for his own shot, thus limiting his impact. Crowder can play different spots -especially on D- and he's better on the transition game and a better rebounder. I think they'll be relatively equal in value for the Jazz if Crowder gets back into his old form and the team keeps moving forward with a higher pace and less ballhandling by Ingles.

That being said, I don't think Ingles is going to the bench with the team as is. I think Crowder will eventually take on the starting PF role (probably as soon as the Jazz lose a couple of games and Quin shakes things up a little bit) and Favors will move to the bench and take Udoh completely out of the rotation.
 
I think Jae Crowder is a great, cheap replacement for Joe Johnsonin our system. Thankfully, it looks like the Jazz are continuing to add guys who fit into the timeline between Rudy and Donovan. It also gives them the freedom to look into keeping Favors long-term if they want to also. Assuming his market is depressed next year, they can easily offer more than the Full MLE and have it come in at less then his cap hold.

DL had wanted him all along since when Hayward left. I'm sure they're confident he'll fit in.
