Hood traded to Cleveland for Crowder; Johnson to Sacramento

Being able to rely on Rubio at the 1 means the Jazz don't need to play Mitchell as many minutes there. Now your guards are Rubio and Mitchell, instead of Mitchell and Hood. Hence, the way Rubio is playing makes it easier to trade Hood. The Jazz can close games without him.

What does it say about Crowder that DL's quotes about him are pretty lackluster? He usually pimps the hell out of his moves.

Where are the quotes?

To be fair, he really pumped up Rubio as Jason Kidd, so... [yeah, yeah, hot streak, I know]

I hope that Jae can come in and kill it in his role. The value of having him will show out in the playoffs when rotations tighten up and lineups get smaller. Jae should have great value to the Jazz in that role. Have to get there first. . . but that’s where he helps the most right now.

Honestly it doesn't matter what Lindsey thinks of Crowder- He's here now. At this point it only matters how Crowder plays on the court and how he fits in and helps the team.

well

crowder has been pretty **** for the cavs, if we can get boston crowder than we should be good, but watching crowder play this season he bricked open shots and layups nightly.

then again ..............
a coked-out death glares will change a man

The more I think about it, what playes have really played better then any other year of their careers with the Cavs this season? Crowder has a pretty decent track record and I bet he will love playing with Rudy. I'm more excited about him now then when the news first broke.

I think that's true, but I read that more as wanting to acknowledge that giving up Hood is a real cost as opposed to Jae not being good.
I agree. DL said this about Crowder specifically:

Jae is someone we’ve long admired. He’s really versatile defensively and can play really two through four with switches and physicality. His build is quite obvious and the systems that he’s played in with Dallas, Boston and Cleveland, we’ve seen enough to think that he can mesh very well in how we play. We’re really anxious to get him here.
