Joe Ingles and a fan ....

Listening to the Woj Pod, apparently the Cavs-Kings-Utah deal hit a little snag on Thursday morning. Thankfully it was able to be worked out.

A lot of good nuggets in there about how trade deadline works and what GMs go through, etc.

I think DL was like "WTF you gave the FRP to LA... that was supposed to come here you knobs."

Thinking of Hood's situation though, I don't think he'll get the same opportunity of attacking the PnR as he did here.

He better be able to hit those shots whenever LeBron finds him. Potential weak mentality players can get chewed and spat out on James' teams.

Tristan / Nance
Love / Green
Lebron / Osman
Hood / Clarkson
Hill / Calderon

It's a decent team, still not sure that's a Championship winning team. Chemistry is everything in the NBA and they'll need to form that chemistry fast.

Looking at that roster it seems like Hood will be a key player and he is getting thrown into the fire pit straight away.

So Hood was upset when Jazz fans booed him
What's going to happen when Cavs fans boo him
What's going to happen when Lebron gets in his face for playing bad

Probably for the best though. We tried to put him in Hayward's role and he failed.

Lue said they are still going to start JR Smith. Also I assume Korver will get more SF minutes than Osman right? I am guessing Clarkson gets the backup PG?

They have a lot of role players that they dont have enough minutes for.

Should have held out for Osman over Rose. Would’ve been nice getting a young asset back as well.

They needed the Jazz on board to get Hill and were looking to move off IT and Crowder. I think they would have blinked.

I actually think Hood's pull ups Fromm set screen were kind of a low-key strength of his. At the Cavs I think he only becomes a spot up shooter. And how much are the Cavs going to tolerate Rodney's quirks?

Those quirks are no longer the Jazz's problem, but I thought it was interesting to think about nonetheless.

"With Rodney Hood and Joe Johnson off the court (1.153 minutes or the equivalent of 24 full games) the team's offensive rating is 112.6 and their defensive rating is 105.2. The Rockets lead the league with a +8.37 differential, followed by the Raptors at +7.99. Golden State is currently third with a +7.27 differential"

IT's defense was so bad that I think Hill may be a bigger upgrade over Hood. They just need to be good enough to take down Boston that's all I hope for.

Yeah totally forgot about JR Smith.. then I guess you're right Clarkson would be the PG of the 2nd unit.

Nah there's no way the Cavs would let go of Osman. He's been rapidly improving and they need to keep all the young guys they can for if LeBron LeLeaves.

Nance
Love
#7 pick / Osman
Hood / Clarkson
Hill

That's a nice young team to build off of.

It is. . . but if push came to shove, Utah could’ve scuttled the whole thing and shifted to a different deal if they needed to. I’m sure Rodney was valued enough that a comparable asset could’ve come from somewhere. Getting Hill/Hood is better for Cleveland than keeping Crowder/Shumpert even if it would’ve cost them Osman.

Could they have gotten Hill without us being involved in the deal?

Anyone know?
