HoopsHype: O'Conner enamored with Brandon Knight

Kanter > Knight, but I still would be happy if Knight ends up on the Jazz.

It will be fun to see who was correct about Knight a few years down the road.
I don't think Knight is a lock to be a star or anything. He has question marks, and could be a meh player in this league.
With that said, let me tell you exactly why I like Knight now, and why I think he will be a good starter/star.

1. Confidence. This guy isn't scared of big games, big shots, or the big stage. He's performed on the #1 team, with a target on his back, and in the tourny.
Imagine if he had Kanter too last year. Wow.
2. A lot of guys have confidence, or are cocky but don't win. Knight won as a starter, and hit game winners. He has done this at every stage so far.
3. Well rounded. He's not as explosive as Deron or Rose, but he's can do a lot of things well. I like his passing skills, like his shot, and love his leadership.
4. He's used to being "the man". This guy can handle the pressure of being a top 6 pick, and having the spotlight on him. Since highschool this kid has
been highly-touted as a player to watch.
5. Work Ethic. Sounds like he is going to bust his *** off to improve from day 1. This is a given with a lot of guys, but at least there aren't any concerns with his character
and fire. Talent + work ethic. He has the tools to succeed.
6. NBA body better than the other top PGs. Taller than walker, as strong or stronger than Jimmer. I think he can finish the +1, and has a body to withstand the NBA. His speed, and agility are NBA caliber.

Knight is a smart smart kid with great work ethic. He was named Gatorade National Boys Basketball POY twice, Lebron and Greg Oden are the only other ones to win it twice which is worth noting. He had a 4.3 GPA in high school and had an outstanding 4.0 GPA at Kentucky. That in itself is proof that this kid works works works. I was really surprised he was one-and-done actually. I don't think we pass this guy up. Reading things about him in high school and college, it seems like he is the ultimate team player. Point guard is probably the most important spot to have a smart, hardworking player. Wouldn't mind him at 3 at all.

IMHO as told in this mock draft, if Cleveland draft at #1, #4 Irving and Kanter respectively and draft a wing next year they will be a team unstoppable in 3 years.

some guys in this board are just hilarious. underrating kanter so much is just a joke. get the best player available (kanter, but i still beliebe the wolves will pick him) and trade then for your needs, because you can get more in return! i guarantee you that in right circumstances and within 2-3 years, he will become a 20 - 10 player. he might very well become the rookie of the year. if he plays for a bad team and gets around 30 minutes a game, he could average 16 and 8 in his rookie year.

i mentioned the same before. the cavs could become a helluva team within 2-3 years. kanter will become an all-star in the eastern conference, believe it or not. kirving and the top five pick they get in the 2012 draft will all be potential/borderline all-stars.

Awesome, thank you for that. Completely irrelevant in the context of the current conversation but a wonderful insight none the less.

He definitely could, you're right! Or what about 15.7 and 8.2? Or 17.5 and 6.6? These are all possibilities as well, in my humble opinion.

And I agree, some guys on this board ARE hilarious...............

i was just pointing out a fact which was written on the link. Payback from Stern to Cavs for sure. I am huge fan of HBO's Game of Thrones these days.

Knight would be great if we had the 6th pick. But, remember this draft has three potentially great players Kanter, Williams, and Irving. After that there is a drop. Knight would be good if we could get another pick this year or next and with the 12 get Jimmer. Kanter will be a great pro his D is suspect. That is the problem with KOC he just doesn't get the whole GM job whatsoever.

no but I can see that Knight is not Dwill2. I think he falls in love with players and takes them higher then they should go all the time like Gordon Hayward, Eric Maynors, and Kosta Kufos. These are players that he could trade down to get. You don't get the #3 pick in the draft then go after maybe the 8 best player.
