Hoopshype Rudy Gobert Article

I want to get to the point where I think about Boston as much as I did my whole life after Larry Bird retired.

That is to say, twice a year or whenever Antoine Walker loses 8 million dollars to Michael Jordan or when Kevin Garnett f's up the Adidas "Impossible is Nothing" campaign.

Gobert likes being the leader. That is good. Gordon for instance acted like hated it and failed to be it sometimes.

This was my favorite part:

To Jazz fans who are frustrated right now, what message do you have for them?

RG: I would tell them to stop arguing with the less-intelligent people on social media and just wait for this season to start. Just wait.

I love this guy...

Pot meet kettle.
Rudy likes to stir things up on SM. But I hope he doesn't stop. He can be pretty damn clever about it. Like when he was asked in an interview about his "hoes ain't loyal" post and said he was just listening to music.

I really, really want Utah to win against Boston both times...just to see what Rudy will say and do.

hoopshype predicts a 10th place finish in the west for the Jazz.

Rudy Gobert would tell us to stop worrying about the less-intelligent people in sports media and just wait for this season to start. Just wait.

I love the last part of that article, not even wanting to address Gordon by name, simply I'm over it. Which is how we should all be, it's done lets focus on our squad and the upcoming schedule

I'm not necessarily disagreeing with you but there is a big difference between someone who is vocal and a leader. So far Gobert has only demonstrated the former.

Gobert has only proven that he really, really wants to win - which is great. But there a lot of guys in the NBA like that. It doesn't mean he's a leader.

The one instance last year where he called out his teammates in the press was concerning. Will there be anyone in the locker room to buffer that if The Jazz go on a prolonged losing streak this year; which is likely given the schedule?

I agree with your view. They definitely are not the same thing. Gobert likes challenge. He likes the idea of him being the face of his franchise and him being the leader calling his teammates "my soldiers".

Now I know that he is young and inexperienced compared to what you need to go through to become a true leader, but him liking the idea of being the leader is a good start to give a character to a rebuilding team.

I predict, that in year three of DM the jazz will be really good. Mitchell and hood will be good scorers, with Gobert giving world class defense and rim protection, with a top five passing pg. I see favs and Burks making comebacks. I predict one will be comeback player of the year, I think we have some good role players in Ingles Thabo Jerebko and Udoh and Exum. All hard nosed defenders with Jerebko and Ingles and maybe Exum if he develops his offense, he's a real wildcard IMO providing some offense. It's not like Hayward up and left us high and dry. IMO I think it's more likely this team is better this year then last, which will lead to more wins.

I was nodding as I read this...until I got to the part about Burks.
