Hoopsworld.com: Ranking the 2013 Free Agents

If we are a top 5 team in the West and make it to the 2nd round in the playoffs, does anyone think CP3 MIGHT consider coming here?

Right. Because Hoopsworld is such a reputable site for opinions. Got it.

To add, if he was such a top center, wouldn't he be ranked higher than 9?

The guy is lazy on defense (watch how he "defends" the pick and roll), doesn't block out on rebounds, and is an inefficient scorer. He was 10th in FGA per game but 83rd in FTA per game. That is unacceptable for an "inside" player and screams "soft". But please, continue with your fantastic insights to Al's game. Got it.

I don't think Hoopsworld is a reputable source. I think they have seen Jefferson play, which is the standard you set. Don't blame me if you didn't mean what you said.

Since neither the review nor I said Jefferson was a "top center" (just on that list, he's #4), that's a case of goal-post moving.

I don't recall offering my own insights, just noting that the insights seen so frequently on this board are not shared by others.

Otherwise, that was a great retort, classic YB85.

How is this relevant? With so many people on earth, I'm sure you'll find someone who would think anything about anyone. What's important is that this opinion is clearly based on his stat sheet.

Yet, he doesn't directly mention a single stat.

Of course, it couldn't be that this board has developed a case of groupthink. We don't act like of fandoms, we're the ones with real basketball knowledge, right?

Someone with Insider tell us where ESPN ranks Jefferson then.

It is fair to say that every single person on these forums have seen a lot more of Jefferson than this guy, and that the opinions expressed, whether you agree with them or not, are based on something deeper than "he puts up good numbers".

Because "every single person on these forums" is an NBA expert with an opinion that matters.

With only a 3-day window to match, I say we offer Ibaka an offer sheet on Day 1 to make OKC overpay to keep him. Then we slide in on Day 5 and sign Harden - the guy we really want - to a large offer sheet. The chance of OKC matching 2 big offers is slim.

I see two issues there. First, I'm confident that whether it's the Jazz or another team, someone will be signing Harden to an offer sheet on day 1. Second, I think the Thunder will let Ibaka walk and do all they can to keep Harden.

I don't really like that phrasing. Big Al doesn't decide who plays and who doesn't. That's on Ty for playing him and KOC for him still being here. And even though it looks like Favors will be better than Big Al, it's at least a bit of a stretch to call Kanter better than Big Al.

ok, so change the wording. you know what i meant.

and i wasn't referring to kanter when i said "better players"... i was referring to how favors couldn't get off the bench in 2011-12 and how 2012-13 will probably see career-low minutes for our best current player, paul millsap.

all so al can fake effort on D, never attack the rim, and get swarmed by halfcourt defenses because of his lack of court vision.

That would be awesome...except that some other team will give Harden the max WAY before Day 5.

You think Millsap will be better than Favors by mid-season? I sure don't, I actually think Favors is better now but to each their own. I can understand why you'd think Millsap is better now but by mid-season (supposing Favors get adequate playing time) Favors shold be the face of the franchise.

Well, then all we need to do is get rid of KOC by then. After all, KOC is the reason Utah can't attract any top FA's.
Out with KOC, in with CP3, Ibaka and Harden.

well i would absolutely love for you to be right. millsap is a near-allstar caliber player, so if favors laps him by the 41-game mark, then we have a bona fide star on our hands.

But if KOC is gone, KOC BEGONE will have no more purpose here. The Jazz had better make the playoffs before KOC leaves just to spite KOC BEGONE. And help everyone else at Jazzfans.
