How can we get Oladipo?

On the Burks vs. Oladipo

Oladipo is a SG only size wise. He is much stronger and had greater overall athletic ability. Oladipo was a far more efficient scorer in college and is a superior defender. He shot 59.9% from the field last year. I see Oladipo as a super role player but not a lead scorer. Guys who can shot 40% plus from 3 and play great D are very valuable.

Burks is a SG/SF who is an inefficient scorer and turnover prone playmaker. Subjectively Burks is better finisher and superior at drawing fouls. In time Burks may become a more valuable scorer but for my money I would rather have Oladipo. In other words Burks has more potential but Oladipo is a better player right now.

Jefferson S/T and #14 for Ben Gordon and #4.

I bet you they'd do it for Tyrus Thomas, or Gordon, Thomas for Jefferson and the #21. That would put them at about $34mm payroll and they could buy a first rounder back (Chicago-Boozer is ripe).

I would do that for any of their players. I bet we could get Burke at 4, and not even have to give up any of our young guys. That would leave Burks as an asset to get a higher pick next year. I think with Burks and Hayward being both shooting guards, I am open to moving Burks more and more.

Hayward is a bit of a tweener though. He can have a tough time guarding quicker twos and bigger 3s. The Jazz certainly need a specimen that can defend and shoot at the 3, but that doesn't make Hayward purely a 2, either. I don't know why so many people are writing on Burks' tombstone lately, but he could just as easily be the best player among The Four as much as the odd man out.

Oladipo bullied his way to the rim when he was with the Hoosiers.
That is at least what I remember about him from those matches I watched.
He can not do that in NBA, where players are bigger and as athletic as Oladipo is (at least close to that)
He does not have the skill level to be an elite player in this league.
I dont think he has any hesitation moves or post moves, to be of use in NBA.
He either jacks up a (set up) 3 point shot or dunks it thunderously, when he has the lane for that!
I believe he has average handling as well.

He is a good prospect but merely a better Sefalosha with a college career!

edit: I took a look at some highlight videos. I may be eating crow one day in the future! :)
