How disappointed are you with Rodney Hood?

I was really expecting him to take his game to the next level this season but so far he has shown me he is a wing player who can't shoot, at times he reminds of the feeling I had for Trey Burkes of last season.

is Hood still the wing player of the future of this team? what is your assessment of him so far?

He's old for a sophomore, too--only a year younger than Burks.

His sophomore slump is Trey Burke level.

He's a sophomore in a slump. At the start the season, a chunk of the board was talking about potentially replacing Hayward with Hood. Now, everyone is "very disappointed". But that's okay. It's not like our opinions are in any way consequential. And as far as my inconsequential opinion is concerned, Hood has a very nice offensive tool-set, and he will find a way to become a solid starter before too long.

His shooting has been abysmal. Tonight it was so bad, he started having problems with his handle. I think he has lost some of his confidence. But Quin seems to be sticking with him, so we should too.

I am disappointed with how Hood has played this year, but I'm not to the point of being angry or being upset that we drafted him.
Almost every player goes thru a sophomore slump and he has been asked to do a lot with the offense in only his second year. That being said, I wish he would be more consistent and find his shot again.
I am still glad we drafted him and tbh I'm surprised he fell that low in the draft...he will be fine in the long run, but yes, this season has been disappointing.

Its like he spent the entire off-season at being good at 1-on-1 moves in the 10-18 foot area and forgot to practice his 3pt shot at all.

I'm not disappointed with his game totally yet. I really don't get disappointed with players in general until their 3rd year. By that time they should have the rigors and nuances of the NBA schedule/life down.

But his past few games have been awful, no doubt about it. I still have faith he can turn it around though and be consistent.

He's got a head injury.
Lol

And a butt injury and feet injuries to go along with his head injury.

I think he needs a shot dr

Be patient. It's his second year. He's young. Yes, he can't hit the broadside of a barn, but two years ago and last year neither could Hayward or Burks. Both bounced back the following year. He's still very talented, and still a young player figuring out how to play at the NBA level. I expect him to bounce back.

I'm disappointed but not surprised. I figured he could go through some rough patches - but this is a little worse than I thought.

Still plenty of time to finish strong.

Locke sez he's hit the wall. I hope he is taking care of himself after games.

I worry he has a bit of anxiety... He's got a good stroke and was awesome last year. I was expecting so much more. I'm not giving up though at all... guy is a worker and still so young and inexperienced. He's pressing Trey style doe.

If hood could shoot and stay healthy he wouldn't have fallen to the Jazz. Not his fault. Nor is it hisfAult if he has anxiety.

I blame Lindsey for the roster. And I blame Quin for either not teaching his team to shoot, or putting them in positions to score.

Great points. Utah has hired a ton of player development coaches but are players developing? We see guys like Ian Clark go elsewhere and have success. Meanwhile, Hood, Booker, Millsap, Johnson, etc have either regressed or stayed the same.

And DL has done absolutely nothing to improve the roster. May as well replace him with a cardboard cutout.

Favors, Gobert, Hayward, Burks and Ingles have all improved. Lyles, Johnson and Exum can't really be used as examples.
