How disappointed are you with Rodney Hood?

Great points. Utah has hired a ton of player development coaches but are players developing? We see guys like Ian Clark go elsewhere and have success. Meanwhile, Hood, Booker, Millsap, Johnson, etc have either regressed or stayed the same.

And DL has done absolutely nothing to improve the roster. May as well replace him with a cardboard cutout.

Ian Clark is having success? In what world are you living in?

Ian Clark is playing with Steph Curry, Klay Thompson, and Draymond Green. And even then he's still averaging only 4.4 points per game. His 21 points didn't prevent a Curry-less GSW from getting blown out by a Deron-less Mavs team. So yeah, you must have a very distorted definition of success.

Hood was selected a few places higher than Cleanthony Early. You don't see Hood getting shot at a strip club and having his good teeth ripped out so I guess his selection is a victory.

On this year's draft Bobby Portis is averaging about 8 points and 4 boards and last night went to 16 and 7.

I am disappointed with how Hood has played this year, but I'm not to the point of being angry or being upset that we drafted him.
Almost every player goes thru a sophomore slump and he has been asked to do a lot with the offense in only his second year. That being said, I wish he would be more consistent and find his shot again.
I am still glad we drafted him and tbh I'm surprised he fell that low in the draft...he will be fine in the long run, but yes, this season has been disappointing.

I echo this. Very disappointed but not worried overall. He probably won't get to the level I thought he would, but he'll be a fine player overall and considering how late in the draft we took him I say fine.

But man he's shooting like Ronnie Brewer this year yo. Oh well. He'll find his shot again.

Disappointed for the most part. His assists are up - he's had a few games where he's led the team which is nice to see - but his 3-point % is worse than last season and his shooting is a step down from being J.R. Smith-inconsistent.

Hoods is a good player. He needs to get his body stronger. He keeps getting hurt and it's messing with his game. If he can get stronger his game will succeed.

Had high hopes(too high for a second year guy) but the kid has the talent to be a damn good player in the league. As he matures and gets stronger his game and consistency will come along. I would apply that assessment to Lyles as well, frankly.

Considering where he was drafted, I think he is making reasonable progress and is hitting the usual slumps that are expected for those in their first few years.

I am grateful that we have him on the team and his output as compared against his salary is worth remembering. I'm more disappointed that people on this thread seem to have over the top expectations and equivalent disappointed reactions when those expectations are not met.

Remember Hayward wasn't exactly consistent his first few years and was rotated in and out of the starting spot in order for him to try to obtain confidence. Hood is likely to go through the same progressive phases.

Are we still disappointed with Hood? Or is it time to start talking about whether Hayward had been made redundant again?

What are the odds that the Jazz continue to shoot this many 3s when Gobert and Favors return? Will Hood continue to play at this level?

we beat the 76ers and portland team with no freakin dame.

and it took rodney to catch absolute fire to win this game.

sometimes i also wonder if burks doesnt fit, but come on guy has talent.

All of it without Gobert, Favors and Exum as well.

Jazz earned all those wins. Good for them.

Hood finally has a great game and the topic becomes that Burks doesn't fit. How par for the course on Jazzfanz. I'm a big fan of both of them, and of the job this coaching staff does of developing players. I remain very impressed by the way this rebuild is being run, and although I understand people's frustration with the fact that we haven't become a player in free agency yet and also that we haven't been cashing in trading chips, I think waiting for the trade deadline this year is the much better strategy. Someone we want is going to come available when his team realizes their best strategy is to tank, and we will be in a better position than any other team to grab him.

We need all three of Alec, Hood, and Hayward. That's as versatile of a wing rotation in this league as they come.

Throw in Rudy, Fav, and Exum-- and you have yourself a contending team. I'm really starting to ****ing believe you guys. What a season so far. To go 3-1 without Alec is insane.
