How Does The Year Of The Cakk Taste Now?

The FA period is really the only thing we could control that really effed our season. The injuries were the main reason we didn't make the playoffs but we couldn't really control that.

Consider the dead horse beat.

Joseph sucks *** and is overpaid.

Beverly would have been nice because I love his toughness, but I question how he would do without being fed by Garden in an offense that is perfect for him.

Lin would have been the easiest and cheapest to get. I was one of the only posters to heavily advocate for him.

We didn't make the playoffs because in a crucial spot, with pressure on us, we couldn't beat a team that sat all their starters. Don't blame injuries on us not making the playoffs. We still could, and should have.

Disagree on Joseph. Beverley can create more than Neto and Exum and is a great defender. Would have been an ideal fit. Lin would have helped a lot too and was the cheapest of the bunch. Any one of those signings happen and we make the playoffs. All of those signings would have been justified at the time as well and we had more than enough space to do it without hurting our financial flexibility.

You want that 28% 3pt shooting Cory jo?

Still could have for sure.. We dropped a lot of games we would have won though because favs and Gobert were both out. One game in the middle of the season is still one game. If that doesn't happen we win 3 or 4 games easily.

The clippers loss stings though and is the crowning achievement on this poop of a season.

Yup because that's all there is to basketball... Shooting threes. Defense doesn't matter at all... And we straight shut down pgs and perimeter guys this year.

His RPM is higher than any of the guys we have on the roster and he led a very good bench unit. He's a good player who didn't shoot the three well.

I think this Jazz team is full of cowards. Coward is pretty strong, but this year has been really frustrating to say the least. They shrivel in tough games all year. At times almost any player on the team can be a beast. I've seen it with Favs, Gobert, Hood, Hayward, and even Burks, but when they get punched in the mouth there is no one to go to. It sucks.
I don't care if I get an infraction. Your a complete moron and an idiot!! It's called being a very young team. It's what young teams do, is being very inconsistent. Were u expecting the Spurs level of execution and consistency? U do realize that even with how difficult this season was with everything going against the Jazz, they could still make the playoffs as the fourth youngest roster in the NBA. Go suck your thumb over at clutchfans u poor little red headed stepchild. I'm not even sure u watched any games this year. U wanna see cowards go look at that Rockets team. All you are doing is disrespecting a team that got no respect from refs and dealt with more injury than most if not more than any other team to key players. This team fought, clawed, and in many ways outplayed all expectations, not to mention had Burke and Neto manning the pg position for most of the year. These players were anything but cowards, and for u to take away everything this team has done in coming together the way they did to give us a thrilling season, go screw your self. Try saying this to the players faces... Oh wait, I'm sure u don't have the balls to do that, even if u could.
I like Quin a lot, but why he nixed the salute I have no idea... It seems to me that kind of attitude is the very thing the Jazz needed this year and they couldn't find it. I'm all for having class and acting like "you've been there" but Rudy hasn't been the same this year. Maybe it's the injury??
Because it was a distraction, and unlike u the Jazz didn't need it to get up for moments.
Yes but is it the reason we lost home games against the Nets, Clips and Dubs all within the last few weeks?

U do realize that every team has its slip ups, right? If the Lakers can beat GS then the Jazz could slip up against the clippers reserves or the nets.

Oh give me a break on being young. Hayward and Favors have played for 6 years now. Over 10,000 minutes each. Minutes matter more than age. Don't know why some of you can't figure that out.

GS didn't lose a must win game to the Lakers. You can't compare the situation.

We lost a must win game to a team resting all of their starters. There are no excuses for that. None.

Wait so the FA period is a stupid scape goat but most of our problems relate to getting a starting point guard? Is there a way a team could acquire such a player without drafting or trading for said player?
The player does have to want to come here right?

The Sitting out of free agency exacerbated the injury issues we had. If we had signed a guy like Casspi or got Dudley they can both play 3 or 4 and would have been upgrades over ingles, Booker (when he was struggling) and CJ. You will have injuries... Every team does. Depth and players who cover multiple positions protect against that and many of those types of players were available.

Two questions
1. Are we sure the jazz didn't try to get casspi and dudley and they turned us down?

2. How do the stats (production) of casspi and dudley compare to ingles and booker? How about their contracts and age vs Booker and ingles.

Also if we were going to give up on Trey so quick and Neto was supposed to play d league and be third pg... Why not go get a Lin or find another similar player?
I agree with this.
I did want the jazz to try to get a pg. I didn't here many jazz fanzers talking about any point guards that were available that they wanted the jazz to get though.

And again, if I'm right those point guards that were available have to want to come here.

Corey Joseph was in my sig for a while. And I definitely wasn't the only person repping him. There were PGs mentioned, too.

Can a team be young and experienced?
I keep hearing game announcers talk about thejazz being one of the youngest teams in the league. Are they wrong?

Do the young players with experience (favors and hayward) have a lot of experience in important games?

1- I don't know but he signed for 2 years at almost $3M per year... we could have doubled the per year amount and years and it would have still been a bargain. My guess is those extra dollars would have made sense to Casspi. Dudley was acquired in a salary dump (which we could have done) and so he had not choice in the matter. He is on a one year $4M deal.

2- Both guys shot over 40% from 3 and were top 15 in RPM for SF for the year. Both guys are better equipped to play small ball 4 than Joe and are just flat out better players. We could have easily kept all of Joe, Booker and one of these guys.
