What's new

How has the virus affected you directly?

It's not bad but I don't think I can reattach. The screws/bolts ripped through the plastic.

**** it. Drive around a beater. Some little **** nugget keyed my six month old Ford Explorer on the two driver side doors. I was gonna get it fixed but it was like 1-2K. Not doing it. It’s a vehicle. Not spending money on that. So I’ll have School sucks and Booooo scratched into each door permanently and I’m gonna embrace it.

Make some new holes.

That might could work.
I will look into it. If I do get a new air dam then I'm going to trim it so it's not so low. I bought a truck partly to have some clearance but that damn black plastic piece eliminates so much clearance.

Doesn't the "own responsibility insurance" or comprehensive insurance cover the damage? Minus the own-risk money. For example, my wife's car new price was about 19000 EUR (VW Golf Sportsvan) and monthly payment is about 20 EUR and own-risk money is 120 EUR. I.e if the total damage is worth of 1000 euros due her own fault, then she has to pay 120 EUR. The good thing is that the repairworks is done using authentic VW parts.
I understand that the price of your truck is maybe twice as much and so are the monthly payments? But the cost of the total repair might be even 2000 euros?

Idk if insurance would cover it but if I file a claim then my rates go up and I probably have to pay a 500 dollar deductable.
The part only costs like 60 dollars and I think I can put it on myself so I don't think I will get insurance involved

We were flying to London tomorrow. Waited to cancel my ticket to try to maximize what my options may be. Looks like my only option is a travel voucher good for 24 months. Not bad, but when I fly I look for the cheapest airline, so the odds of that being United again may be fairly low. Glad to have gotten something, though, as initially I was thinking it'd be a total loss because I'm pretty sure I bought non-refundable tickets.

So you drove over the curb? Frustrating for sure.

No I didn't drive over a curb.
I actually fixed it up myself and I like it better than I did before.

On the bright side of things, I was lucky enough to put some money into the markets a few weeks ago. Been waiting to invest bc the markets seemed so damn high.

I've made almost 17% since I got in! Not a ton of money, but hey, any positive is a good thing.

Up to a solid 26% ROI. Not bad.

Tested for COVID yesterday but won't know until Friday. Sicker today than yesterday, lungs hurt.

Because of my health issues I've been really careful - except at my Dad's funeral where a few people hugged me by surprise, and I didn't wear my mask all the time because there was so much going on.

I really hope I've got some other type of virus because having to tell everyone at the funeral will be a pain.

I hope it's negative. You're going through more than enough.
