Just curious when people started cheering for the Jazz. But more specifically if it was during the Stockton and Malone era or if it was after. I'm sure most people like me were born a Jazz fan but I am really interested in people being "converted" to the Jazz.
 
Since birth.

Parents had season tickets on the 2nd Row at the Salt Palace when I was
born so those are my first memories of the Jazz.

Hard to describe how much I loved the Jazz when I was little.

Ditto, I remember balling my eyes out like a little ***** both years when they lost to Jordan.
 
I'm probably the noob of the forum. I never said the words "Utah Jazz" until probably 2005 when I bought a home in Utah. Then, every single day, I had to listen to Jazz talk with all my business partners and employees.. they tried to adopt/convert me to a Jazz fan, but were unsuccessful. I started watching all the games, though, because these guys didn't know much about bb and were Locke puppets .. and I wanted to see things for myself for more fun discussion. Over the years I just kind of morphed into a fan .. in my case, resisting the whole way.

The short answer is probably about 4 years.

Did you cheer for a team before the Jazz?
 
^^ Pretty much same. Jazz caught my attention when Memo signed with the Jazz and caught an attention for national broadcaster over here as well. They were broadcasting 1 or 2 games of Jazz every week and it was inevitable i guess.

With Memo and now Kanter does Turkey have a lot of Jazz fans?
 
I watched games on KSL. I think it was Karls rookie season when John Stockton splitting time with Ricky green. My favorite player in my youth was Bobby Hansen because I got #20 as a Jr. Jazz uniform once and he had awesom hair.

Yup. I used to cry every year the Jazz were eliminated.

I used to actually like Jordan when I was little. My room was all Jazz, Utes, and MJ stuff. After the first loss in the Finals I took all of my Jordan stuff, put it in a bucket, and burned it behind the shed in my friends backyard, vowing to hate Jordan for as long as a lived (I was 12).

97-98 was a rough couple years with the Jazz losing in the Finals twice and the Utes falling just short in the National Championship. Hurts because it's hard to see either team having a chance like that ever again. ***
 
1983-84 was the first season I started following the Jazz when they won their first Midwest Division title.
 
I was born in '71. I guess that means I'm old. But I don't fart much.

When I was 6 or 7 I wanted to change my name to Adrian.
 
I was born a Jazz fan, it's in my blood. In fact, whenever attendance goes down the University Hospital calls me up for donations to supply Type Dark Yellow-Dark Green, RH Navytive, Gray System positive blood to their non-Jazz patients.
 
1987 first year I really started getting into the team.
I looked backed at my journals and noticed some notes about Bobby Hansen dunking the ball. The Golden Griff.
Loved the Salt Palce. That place had a vibe.
