Jazz will keep: Harris, Burks, Hayward, Carroll, Millsap, Jefferson, Kanter, Favors, Earl/Tinsley
Possible: Earl/Tinsley, Howard, Evans.
Please be gone: Bell

That would give us 12, 13 if we can't get rid of Bell. Jazz have usually tried to stay at 13. I really don't see the Jazz doing much with free agency, since next year they could make a big splash. That is unless they can trade for someone they think is in their long-term plans. I see them standing pat this season with basically the same roster. I wouldn't be surprised if AK came back, I actually think it's more likely than us getting a first round pick.

Having said that... we have had much greater success than most at finding second round picks that are able to earn a spot on the roster. So 1 is what I meant to say above, but I got distracted.

Zero chance it's more than 2.

1% chance it's 2

49% it's 1

51% it's none

I'm leaning towards none. KOC stashes a Euro with our 2nd, so he can stick with the too much youth BS, and make it appear as if everything is going as planned. That way, it doesn't look like he totally missed the home run move of trading Al for rebuilding pieces at the deadline, which, of course, he did.

I would say probably 2. Either from a 1st rounder and 2nd round/undrafted or from a 2nd round and undrafted.

I said 2 because I think KOC is going to make a move into the first. I am also a big fan of having the 13 or 14 man on the roster being a 2nd rounder or undrafted fa. These players are cheap and every now and again turn into Wes Matthews. I love the players that have to play into a contract.

I said one but I wouldn't be surprised if KOC moved up to get a first or an early second. I think it is easier to get a late first than an early second because of the guaranteed contracts of first rounders.

Also, 3 rookies wouldn't be such a great thing. I'd rather package them to move up for a higher pick than have 3 rookies. 2 is the limit, and that goes for pretty much every year.

I'm not saying this will happen, but I want three rookies this year.

Lillard or Marshall

Second round:
DMiller and Crowder

I know three is a lot, but Miller and Crowder are older guys + they will be on second-round contracts.

Moreover, it's not like we lose a **** ton of leadership and savvy if these three replace Howard, Miles, and Jefferson on the roster.

False. Use whatever money is used to sign 1 of those rookies on Brandon Rush. No need for three rookies, especially if we are getting a guy like Lillard or Marshall.

Harris- Lillard - Watson
Rush - Burks - Bell
Hayward - Carroll -
Millsap - Evans - 2nd round pick (5th big)
Favors - Kanter

*Assuming we have to use Jefferson in trade we would get other pieces back also which would add to the roster. I would also assume we would add at least another player in trade to balance out trade.

Either way, our roster is already stacked with 13 people if you assume the +/- from the Big Al trade is 0. I know this past year there was some extra provision where we were able to have an extra man, so I don't see us carrying as many people on the roster as we did last year. No way we go into the season with 3 rookies on the opening roster. Two is the max number I would assume, probably 1, possibly 0.

I said I want three rookies, and then I gave their names. Nothing you just vomited changed my mind.
I'll give you the +/- on a Al trade as zero. So, just subtract Howard, Miles, and either Tinsley or Watson. I can do another combo of three if you'd like!

I would love to end up with Lillard and Darius Miller. Miller could be a great role player for us. He can shoot and defend. He has good all-around size and athletic ability for the 3. We might have to move up in the 2nd round to draft him.

I think just the 2nd round is most likely.
