How old are you?

In Turkey, there isn't much of a "personal space" between the males. On the streets you can see guys walking together very closely, arm in arm or especially arm on shoulders of each others in almost any age groups from school boys to the oldsters. In most of the European countries that can be perceived as gayness, because that personal space thing is crazy important there.

However hand holding is entirely another thing in Turkey. Because unlike some arabian countries, it's linked with romanticism strongly. So if you see a male couple holding hands of each other in Turkey, you can assume that they're most likely partners.

Sorry for off-toppic. Do americans have this "personal space" paranoia? I always hear they're more amiable than europeans.

Kind of. Americans have a personal bubble. We don't meet each other and kiss cheeks, etc. When President Bush held hands with a Saudi Arabian guy it was kind of a big deal for some Americans (Not all however).

Gee I fell for this thread-necromancy (word?) too.
whatever,

I am 35, feeling as if I am 21, working as a college professor;
wishing I had some Muay Thai and Kickboxing competitions under my belt!

International Law.
I also teach at international relations department, as adjunct faculty.

That sounds interesting. I studied accounting, but business law was one of my favorite classes. I think law is an interesting topic even if I could never picture myself as an attorney.

neither could I.
I am just too academic and just too aloof to practice law.
I have by design turned myself intoa good-for-nothing theory machine, sadly!
:)
still, it is good to be among 20 year old kids.
They think you rock

Believe me, we don't! Haha :)

I mean at least I don't. You can't imagine how I'm ecstatic last months for I graduated. I still won't be prof-free as I'm considering further education but that's still a thing.

On the other hand you're a very young one though, and you like basketball and talk about it. So you must be real cool.

Man, I do rock!
I am one of those professors that simply shine (shameless self-promotion)
hehehe
jokes aside,
I am usually on good terms with my students.
