Does Playboy have a history of women posing without their full consent? I don't think so. What's the evidence that Hef was a misogynist? (Serious question. I have no idea. But I'm guessing these claims rest on some outmoded assumption that sex work is inherently demeaning and amoral).

I think there are stories from former playmates that blast him. I know the biggest thing against him were some comments he has made about qualudes and sex.

I get what Archie means. Hugh probably did a lot of **** regular celebrities (most recent example would be the R Kelly controversy) would get blasted for, but since he owned playboy, people kind of expect stuff from him and anything the girls say about probably comes with the attitude of "well what did you expect when you signed up to be a playboy bunny living in a mansion?".
 
Gotcha.

Just did a little research.... Nobody should be defending this guy. But the critiques of him could be way better.

The dictionary defines the erotic as “anything that arouses sexual desire and heightens sexual excitement,” while pornography is defined as “a commercial product designed to elicit or enhance sexual arousal by portrayal of sexually explicit images.

Never seen sexually explicit images in Playboy so to me it is erotic magazine.

What about classic art that shows nudity? Is that considered porn?

What if somebody takes a picture of their kid in the bathtub?

I'm sure people have different ideas as to what defines a pornographic image, but I'd guess that most people don't consider all nudity to be pornographic.

At least some of what has been published in playboy could be considered artistic, compared to something like Hustler.

I think there can be depictions of nudity that do not constitute porn, but this is a very fuzzy line with lots of opinions on multiple sides of the debate. My mother would say that showing too much cleavage in any aspect is porn and when we saw a nude statue in a museum I heard her mumble "disgusting" under her breath. On the other hand, my brother would consider playboy high class art and it would have to delve into the realms of things like hard cored BDSM or bestiality for him to consider it porn. That is a question with no answer.
 
I know porn when I see it.

So if you have a question please just forward all images to me and I'll tell you if it's porn or not.
