I love how people label some others as "homers" but cannot even be objective on something. LOL. I know, Memo is definitely not a member of the class of Dirk, Gasol, Dwight, Bynum (when healthy), and you can hate him as much as you want, or blame him for this ugly injury or for being a soft player for what? playing through injuries. Yes, they are some of them... When somebody says something positive of him, do you have to interpret is as "homerism" as if our job is to protect Memo's legacy, rights and promote him. Are you that silly? I could care less. I'm here as a Jazzfan, that's it, we're just sharing opinions, Deron is not gonna award me if I tell someting positive about him. We're not journalists. It's easy to label people, complain about everything. They are also some of them here. And they act like they know more than GMs, coaches, other fans, and anybody that disagrees with them are a bunch of losers, homers, etc.
I believe that Memo can be a big piece of this roster if he can come back from his injury fully healthy. If you cannot see the struggles of Jazz offense which mainly stemms from lack of court spreading, floor spacing, the level of system knowledge, I have nothing to say. I mean go back and watch the tapes, see how many of Paul's or Al's points have come from pick'n rolls or pops, generally in regular offense. See if the points have come easily for them. If you want to make yourself happy and kid yourself, you can watch the game against a bunch of softies, Toronto and a team that plays without real bigmen, OKC. Not that the Jazz got lucky or did not deserve that victories. The Jazz offense sucked big time against three lesser teams: PHX, LAC, GSW and that has everything to do with things like floor spacing, experience in Jazz system, court spreading, three point threat, most of which are essential for this system to be efficient. And if you still can ignore the Memo's impact on this offense's effectiveness, efficiency, than I say get a clue. I cannot wait to see Memo on the court. his offensive repertiore, experience (particulary in this system), clutchness, the respect he gets from opponent coaches and defenses are crucial. I, for one, am not sold on Jefferson/Millsap combo and am not satisfied with the way the game flows when both are on the court ;however, we have seen this duo play together just in 6 games so no reason for pessimism. Talent and versatility is right there. I hope as they get used to playing with each other and the present line-up, they will figure out how to execute this offense at a higher efficiency. They, unquestionably, are very talented and they're young. As long as things continue to improve, no reason for changing the starting frontcourt. The tough job is Sloan's. Another question in my mind: Millsap has had and will surely have a size disadvantage against many of the frontcourt players he will face. You cannot ignore this fact. Another fact is the Jazz have always lacked size and length upfront against Lakers and maybe this year against Dallas. If oppnents try to exploit this weakness, would coach Sloan stick with his starting lineup or put Memo/Fes on the starting five instead of Millsap/AJ ? That's to be answered. In addition to that, I have concerns regarding Memo's efficiency and impact on the game if he comes off the bench and has to play with a non-PG

Ronnie, who is a hustle player, trying to bring energy and a little bit chaos to influence the scenario of the game when coming in for Deron, and is not able to control the game, tempo and execute the offensive schemes and let the offense create the easy looks for players. Maybe I'm wrong. We'll see.
I hate to talk about "contracts" and the silliness of squendiring huge amount of money just for a human". I actually do not approve of giving too much money to athletes, singers, whatever. However, I just do not understand how some people moan about the extension of Memo's contract. I respect the standpoint of fans who thought/still thinks that the Jazz would/could be better off Memo because of the reasons they would present. That's an opinion and actually a speculation, assumption, neither side of the debate can be %100 sure. Memo's contract was extended for how many years? "2". Right? That's not a contract which an 30+ year old player looks for, that's for sure. People complain about the value of contract. Actually I call a BS on this one. Some fans talk about "market value". Well, just look at the contracts FA players got during these last 2 years of FA period ( like Drew Gooden's, Darko's, Warrick's (I can name a few)) and think about the fact that before his own new contract, there had been 20+ CENTERS PAID MORE THAN OKUR. I guess we, fans are not the ones from whom the clubs gets advices on "market values" of players. By the way; link for his comments on extension:
