What's new

I command you: DO NOT DRAFT UDOH

Yet he seems to be moving up the draft board and is in the top 8 in alot of the "experts mocks" so he has to be doing something to impress these people.

I'm sorry but why is this allowed? You realize how uncomfortable you're making many people on this board, right? I know it's funny to some but very not funny to others. I'd appreciate it if you'd not use Jesus' name in this manner.

Besides, this is disrespectful not helpful. We need all the help He can provide. Why mess it up for us now?

NEW YORK -- Golden State is leaning toward being the first team to upset the lottery if it selects Baylor’s Epke Udoh over Georgetown’s Greg Monroe at No. 6, according to multiple sources with knowledge of the selection told ESPN.com Wednesday night.

The Warriors are seriously considering selecting Udoh at No. 6, which would be the highest he has been listed on draft boards if the projected top five goes as expected with John Wall (Washington), Evan Turner (Philadelphia), Wesley Johnson (New Jersey), Derrick Favors (Minnesota) and DeMarcus Cousins (Sacramento) in the first five spots.

According to sources the Warriors are intrigued with Udoh’s ability to be a game-changer more so than Monroe, especially on the defensive end.

If Udoh does go No. 6 and Detroit goes with North Carolina’s Ed Davis, which is what those close to Davis and the league expect, then the Los Angeles Clippers would have a tough decision at No. 8. According to a source close to the situation, the Clippers would have a hard time deciding between Monroe or Wake Forest’s Al-Farouq Aminu. If the Clippers go with Aminu then Monroe becomes the first slider in the lottery, likely landing at No. 9 Utah unless Detroit changes direction and goes with Monroe over Davis.

Meanwhile, multiple sources say Oklahoma City isn’t done trying to make moves after getting the No. 18 pick and Daequon Cook from Miami earlier Wednesday. Sources said Indiana continues to be a possible destination for a trade. The Pacers’ No. 10 has been on the market if the Pacers can land a point guard in a deal. Indiana had looked long at Udoh at No. 10 if the Pacers kept the pick. If the Warriors go with Udoh at No. 6 then the Pacers might be more apt to deal.

Good job Guitaro, It's not always easy to stand up for what you believe in.

I have a sneaking suspicion there are a lot of smokescreens going on right now. I think there are going to be some surprises tomorrow.

Well, it just makes me sad when people take His name in vain or make a mockery of who He is and what He stands for. I also think of Jesus as my big brother as well as my Savior. Why would I standby and watch someone make fun of Him? All He did was suffer for my sins and paid the price, so that I won't have to, if I accept Him as my Savior. So making fun of Him is really the last thing I would expect someone to do. :(

I feel comfortable.

I don't have a problem if people are offended by someone choosing a name of Jesus Christ. But there are better ways to deal with it than posting your personal feelings about it on a forum that is about the Utah Jazz. You can report them, and you can even ignore the person. But please don't use the board to bear your testimony, because that is just as offensive to me.

And yes I sense the irony with my post, no need to remind me.

You're incredibly lame.

And that is coming from Jesus of all people.

Oh, and please, only capitalize my name, not personal pronouns like "he". I'm kinda a stickler for grammar. I know you want to worship me, yadda yadda, but this is **** you learn in elementary school. Plus, it makes you look weird.

No, a) because I don't think a Kendrick Perkins-type player makes the Jazz a significantly better team, given that if Boozer leaves the Jazz still have Millsap, AK, Fess and Okur, and b) because I think there are several Kendrick Perkins-type players (defensive-minded PF/Cs) available later in the draft and available through free agency. Beyond that, I think Aldrich is a better comparison to Kendrick Perkins than Udoh. I think Udoh is more comparable to Udonis Haslem and Carl Landry. Actually, the best case for Udoh on the defensive side might be John Salley and on the offensive side maybe Horace Grant. That's a solid pro player if it happens, but right now Udoh doesn't quite play big enough yet, and it's not clear that he will. I think the Jazz need to take more upside at #9. I think the Jazz would rather draft Davis than Udoh.

Kendrick Perkins is a nice complement to Rondo, Pierce, Allen and KG, but the Jazz need a Big-4 player here. The Jazz need a player that other teams need to react to.

I honestly can't believe what I'm reading. If there is a KP type player there at #9, WE ABSOLUTELY TAKE HIM. We whine incessantly about having no interior D yet you'd turn KP away? That's just dumb. The guy flat out frustrated Dwight Howard in their series and is probably the best one on one defensive center after Howard in the entire league at the 5. The problem is the only KP type guys I see in this draft are Favors, Cousins, and Pittman. It seems we won't move up to get the two former guys so that's why I'm pushing for DP in the 2nd round. He has the size, mentality, and athleticism to be that type of guy at the 5 imo. He also has huge hands (which is demonstrated in his highlights) which helps on the offensive end. Seriously, if you've seen him in games, you know what I mean. His quickness and ability to make moves inside given his size (he's still overweight and has 20% Body Fat) is sick. If he can trim that down to about 285 and 15%, ****.

I wonder if Jesus was still around if he would be okay that we have Udoh on our team. I mean we followed his commandment to the letter of the law but maybe not the spirit of the law?

Well, the OP was right. Udoh was a bust as a lottery pick. Even now, he's good for ~15 mins of defense only. Solid backup for Utah at the right price. But he's not playing his way into a big contract. Good that he's signed for next year. Gives Bradley 2 seasons to develop.
