What's new

I hate to do this but I have to agree what Kobe said:

Some obvious recruiting by Kobe. He might have well have just said "they wouldn't boo you in Los Angeles!"

I bought this shirt in Boston... I'm in the process of having the clover changed to the Jazz "J"
But, it should relate my thoughts toward anything Kobe related.
Regarding Deron, the Lakers, whatever... Deron is in when Fisher leaves.

...look! The big problem with Sloan was that he was so stuck in his ways about slowing the ball down, running the half-court offense and taking time off the shot clock to make the other team play defense.....that even when the Jazz did have a prime fast break opportunity, 2 on 1 or 3 on 2 or even 3 on 1....Sloan wanted his point guard to hold up and play a half-court offense!!! Correct me if I'm wrong on that and you didn't see it hundreds of times during the Sloan era of recent years? Yes, when we had Stockton and Malone the half-court was a great option. But with the players we had the last 10 years we needed to take advantage of any mismatches we could produce on fast break opportunities and take those open shots! That's what bugged Deron, me, you and this whole jazzfanz board!!! And then there were the substitution patterns, pulling guys that were playing well...just because a certain time period elapsed in the period? PLEASE! Sloan needed to go. I know it, you know it....and now the American public knows it!

The biggest thing I noticed when Deron was out injured those last few games was that Earl didn't have a problem getting the team to run. He ran constantly. This isn't all on Deron though, its tough to run if you don't rebound. Rebounding is killing us.

Kobe could tell me the sky is blue and water is wet and I wouldn't agree with him. He can go **** himself.

Yes....

We most definitely need to be listening to the Derons the Iversons, the Lebrons, and the Kobes of the world....

Hell, why not ask Vince Young and Tiger Woods about the Deron Williams situation?

While we're asking the most self centered, leaderless, classless, coach killers in sports, lets ask the the slime from college sports about this too, John Calapari and Cam Newton might have some interesting takes.

Guys, this board is dead. If you're using KOBE to somehow justify this situation, then you've already lost the argument. Furthermore, of course Kobe is going to back up a former Olympic teammate who he hopes to attract to Hollywood here in a few years.

Cool.

Kobe understands Deron, Deron understands Kobe.

I can't think of a more appropriate comparison. Especially as regards powerplays. And hey, Kobe probably threw the 04 Finals, and just gave up a few years ago against the Suns.
Yes, this from a guy that forced one coach out, forced a teammate to leave (Shaq) and demanded a trade until Buss and Kupchak told him to shut the bleep up. If Kobe had had his way, the Lakers would have acquired a broken down Kidd at an outrageous price, gotten rid of Jackson and would have blown any chance at winning their last titles.

Exactly.

And without that Gasol trade, where would Kobe have driven the Lakers to? Financial ruin? The lottery? Maybe the 2nd round of the playoffs only to be beaten down every year by the same teams?

I can't think of a better comparison right now than Deron and Kobe.

Deron thinks he is smarter than Sloan and wants to run it his own way?

Is this a question or a statement?

This is a quote from the Suns game:

On difference of having Ty Corbin on the bench as opposed to Jerry Sloan
“Ty is going to be similar to Coach Sloan. We’re not changing the offense. We’re not changing the system. Our system has worked for years, it’s not like it needs to be changed. We just have to do a better job of executing it and getting stops.”

Question. Is Williams lying in this interview?
