i dont even know if i want to watch since i know the jazz will screw this up. i just pray that charmin ultra monroe gets picked before 9 so the jazz can't pick him.
this draft night could shape the future of this franchise. utah cant be content to just draft a player they think will be "solid" ....someone who ends up averaging 12/8 for several years. they need to take a risk and pick guys with upside in this draft. we know this franchise is content with the "solid" players, winning 50 games and making the playoffs every year.
the thunder got the 18th pick and cook by giving up their 2nd round pick (#32). watch that pick net them a larry sanders who will end up the sleeper of the draft. they are also actively trying to trade up into the lottery, namely the pacers 10th pick.
what are the jazz doing? are they on the phone shopping for these picks? seems to be pretty easy to get one, and another 1st rounder could end up being valuable. but alas, the jazz dont want to pay another draft pick under contract.
as much as i dont think players should be running franchises, i hope dwill is in their ear telling them who to pick and telling them he could walk away after his contract if they dont do something on draft nite.
since i know my guy paul george isnt even on their draft board, i will just be happy if the jazz draft ed davis instead of monroe/aldrich/babbit/etc. i've given up the idea that the jazz will draft george.
the only good thing is it will make it that much easier to turn the nba off for good which i finally did this year.
