What's new

I rarely complain about the officiating...

I thought the officiating was pretty bad....

I also thought, AK was bad and our defensive rebounding was terrible as usual this season...

its a makeup game from the refs.

for the shafting okc got lasts eason.
when cj fouled durant but a no call.

so the nba refs owned okc 1 game in ESA

simple as that

^I agree with this... but I dont agree CJ fouled him, and since when has the NBA EVER apologized for a call after the game? I thought that was all a bit strange...

The Thunder did play very well. AK shut down Durrant in the 4th, but everybody on the Thunder (Westbrook, Ibaka, etc) else stepped up. I think the Jazz would have won if they weren't on the 5th game in 7 days with all of the energy spent on the comebacks.

That said, I thought the officiating was horrible. The Thunder shot something like 23 free throws to our 8 in the first half and then people were getting knocked to the floor left and right in the second half and nothing was called. The Jazz got in the penalty early in the 1st and 2nd quarters, but the Thunder got their 4th foul with 8 minutes and change left on the clock in the 4th quarter and they didn't get the 5th foul called until around 4 minutes left. And it's not like there were no fouls occurring.

Javie and Bavetta are the two refs that I believe occassionally follow the Donaghy method of officiating.

There are tons of variables which help to determine the outcome of an NBA game. A missed shot or a missed box-out, or a missed call during a tight game, and that's all it takes to turn the tide. It's just unfortunate when the officiating isn't consistent and bad calls shift the delicate balance of momentum towards another team. People pay a lot of money to see a game which is supposedly decided by players, not referees.

If that was the case the Jazz where already owed a game from getting jobbed in OKC on New Years eve, if you need to ask cause you don't remember then you don't deserve to know.

the difference is the world KNOWS aboutt he drubbing in april. the nba issued an apaology nobody cares what happened in okc

Again I state, if that is true when do the Jazz get one for when they blew the game in OKC on New Years? The phantom rebound foul on Milsap....... anybody???

nobody cares for that game:P. nba did not issue an apolgy for that game. not saying i dont care about that game i do. but the outrside world DOES NOT.

oh wait, I can't say that can I? If the jazz had just made all their shots, they would have won anyways, right?

I couldn't agree more. I really hate the argument that "if the Jazz would only have shot 100% on their shots, then they would have won." You have no deductive reasoning ability whatsoever if you use an argument like that. The Jazz have been "Javied" by refs for years when playing the hated lakers in the playoffs. It's ridiculous.

Since apparently no one bothered to look at the link I posted earlier,

I bothered to look, but the Javie stats are nothing new. Javie has had one of the lowest home team winning percentages for years. I don't get how the NBA pretends that no one notices the variation in officiating. I would love to see a Synergy Sports or 82games type of breakdown on officiating, but alas, I fear that detailed analysis might expose the sport I love as a total sham.

I'd say rebounding right now is our biggest concern. But I'm not terribly worried after this game, the 1st one back off a long roadie is always the toughest. Plus it was only 1 day rest after so many games in a short span. This stretch of games with such little rest is kind of ridiculous if you asked me.

Yeah, I thought the Jazz's schedual was pretty rediculous.
That stretch of games was just asking to get whooped, but the Jazz showed that they're a lot better than people gave them credit for.
As far as last night goes, it was obviously a make up game for the refs.
Just in time to stop the Jazz's momentum for beat Sterns little babies "The Miami Cheat".

The OP obviously aint Sloan in disguise, eh? Sloan has more technical fouls than anyone in NBA history...Over a quarter of a million in fines, I figure. Just another reason why, Sloan, he ROCKS, eh!?

And the Thunder were playing with the confidence of a team KNOWING they were gonna get those calls. Yeah, it was so obvious the NBA brass should be embarrassed...
