What's new

I remember when Carlos Boozer was with the JAZZ.

I wasnt here for sloanfeld. He liked Boozer huh? I dont like Sloanfeld already.

So what is the deal with Jazz loving to employ and shower players like Booz and Al with all the minutes they want? It drives me nuts. I cant wait til this nightmare is over. Or will it be? I fear we will re-sign Al or just go get Boozer 3.0, Al being Boozer 2.0.

I just cant believe Oconnor went out and made the same mistake by signing Al right after the Boozer debacle. Boozer is a big reason I started getting mad at Sloan, because he refused to bench him.

As much as I hated the guy, at least he stepped up his game in the playoffs (except when we played the Lakers), unlike Big Statue.

I'm not trying to stick up for boozer but remember when we went to the conference finals? That had a lot to do with his performance, we wouldn't have gotten by the rockets with his awesome performances against them.

If continually bashing booze makes you guys feel better about having big al then maybe I should try it because I hate big al.

I think Boozer's game was underrated while here in Utah (although I do think we had the perfect system/personnel for him to succeed), but his douchieness was also underrated.

Boozer is a pretty good offensive player if a team uses him right. Chicago doesn't use him right and they are paying the price. Instead they just give him the ball on the high block and watch him shoot his patented turn around fade-away. I don't know if it is the Bull's PG who suck at passing, Thibadeau's ability teach and to get his team to execute a good offense, or Boozer just sucking at a huge rate.

My favorite part of the article:

Boozer was brought in to be the second offensive option on a championship-caliber team. Now he's just an overpriced forward who is only getting older for a team with a championship forecast that is cloudier than ever. The calls will grow louder over the summer for the Bulls to use their amnesty clause on Boozer to free themselves of the almost $50 million dollars he is due over the next three years. But amnestying Boozer doesn't really help the Bulls much considering Rose, Deng and Noah all have huge deals on the books for multiple years to come. The Bulls are still expected to be over the cap once they make a decision on Omer Asik and Rip Hamilton returns next season. To anyone thinking that Boozer has trade value, think again. There isn't a team in the NBA that wants to deal with that contract.

Man, that sounds soooo familiar!

Boozer and al should both move to Spain and become bull fighters they have both perfected the olay defense. Never had a problem with either players offense but if I was that big I'd start knocking pg driving the lane out

Boozer- Boozer 1.0
Al Jeffe- Boozer 2.0
??????..- Boozer 3.0
??????..- Boozer 4.0
??????..- Boozer 5.0
And on and on

??????= who will be the next lazy *** big guy OConnor goes after.

Oconnor is a great GM but I am just saying, didnt we just do this with Boozer. Why are we doing it with Al Jeffe?
Just like with Booz the writing was on the wall early, and KOC did nothing about it. Here we are again trying the same thing again. I dont get it. Why isnt Al traded yet? I know we cant trade right now, but still, why isnt he gone?

I love Oconnor though. Just getting a little impatient here. I think he has to move him early before training camp starts. So the whole team knows they are about to have a great year and they will get all excited and work harder to get better.

I am a big fan of Oconnor though. He drafts really good when we are in the lottery and second round picks. Not so much post lottery first round. Too bad we cant draft lottery a couple more times. O well, its much better that way. We dont want to end up with a bunch of lottery picks on our team. We are better off with vet leadership.

So what is worse?

Boozer admitting that he does not care about winning a championship?
" Boozer said, when asked to asses his second season in Chicago. "We had the best record again in basketball, won our division again, had the top seed again, that's all that matters, yo."

Or

Jefferson admitting defeat before it was over?
"I just think we're playing against a team that is at its peak," Jefferson said. "I don't see nobody beating them."

I personally say Boozer's quote is worse.

...I agree. Boozer, although in theory, played a team concept game, never worked all that hard to improve the things that made him pathetic. Jefferson was not actually admitting defeat as much as stating reality. He recognized the Spurs talent level and style of play were tops in the league and basically admired it! Now, whether that means big Al can change? I doubt it. But neither will Boozer ever change. Both have peaked and both are drastically over paid!

I don't think Jefferson has peaked. He improved his passing this year, so that is a sign of his skills/mind trending upward.

Of course for the most part he is as good as he will be, but he has shown improvement in certain categories.

You cant fix no effort in a guys personality. If you focus on Al during a game you will notice how many plays he doesnt make because he is being lazy. This isnt about stats.

Yeah, I'm aware of this. It was also a lockout shortened season and Big Al isn't exactly the pillar of physical ability. Most centers in the league aren't all out hustle machines. If you look at the majority of centers (even in the playoffs) they always look a little bit lazy.
