I Think It Looks Really Bad for Next Year

I stand corrected, Atlanta and Charlotte should make the playoffs....the Suns...probably not.

But considering that the Suns were widely estimated to be the worst team in the league I'd say Horny has flourished.

If we can find a sucker to take kanter off our roster, good.

Defense wins championships and I just don't see much of a career for Enes. He plays worse defense than boozer, memo, or Jefferson yet isn't near the offensive player.

Besides, the nba is becoming longer and quicker. I don't think he's good enough/tall enough to play center. Yet he's way too slow to be a 4.

I foresee kanter staying in the league for a while. Making a ton of money from stupid losing franchises. Much like big al and never really making any mark on the playoffs.

That's just my opinion even though I personally really like kanter and root for him.

We should seriously consider throwing Gobert into the fire. Give him some experience heading into next year. He and favors, whole offensively challenged, will be inconsistent offensively. Defensively, they should be able to slow down most teams and keep us in ball games.

Defense wins championships. If we can't score? Well, at least we can prevent other teams from scoring until our offense figures things out.

I can't understand why Gobert is not playing. He got in for 2 minutes last night Ina game the jazz were losing by twenty.

I know the freethrow shooting was an issue, was it the Clippers who played hack a Frenchman?

But the guy changes the game immediately and really impacts the flow of the other teams second unit. I am frustrated the jazz have wasted a year of development.

Seriously though. Corbin gave a quote today that said, "Where we are right now. I mean, who you gonna play him in front of?"... I just can't handle Corbin now. On a unrelated note Dieng on the T-Wolves has gotten some playing time, he scored 22 and pulled down 21 rebounds.

Because Corbin has the brain of a *****, er dodo, to err is human, to forgive divine, yes, the correct answer is still ***** Give me a d, give me an i, give me an l, give me a d, give me an o, what do you got? Corbin's brain.

Why not play Rudy, Ian, Jeremy and Thomas together to see what they can do?

That kinds of leaves me with a pitt in my stomach. What is we resigned Al, Sap and Mo and fired Ty and made Jeff the coach.
Fifth seed in the WC. Unable to afford Favors so he leaves via FA. We have a big-3 of Al, Sap and Hayward. Have to make a choice after next year between Burks and Kanter as Jazz already have a MAX player in Jefferson and two $10M/per guys in Sap and Gordon.

Draft nets us a guard like J. Young or Stauskas or perhaps a big like Cauley-Stein. And remember, there would be NO GS pick as re-signing our FA's would have left us no room to take on contracts.

Seriously, does the following team ever contend?

PG - Mo, Burke
SG - Burks, Stauskas
SF - Hayward
PF - Millsap,
C - Jefferson, Gobert

And no room to acquire FA's; the Jazz will already be over the cap. Even throw-in Favors if the Jazz found a way to keep him (or Kanter) and Burks plus Al, Gordon and Sap. That team still doesn't contend. We see a nice string of playoff years, maybe even getting to the WC finals 1 or 2x depending on luck. But never a serious threat.

If the team was exciting with the new coach I would take that.

But it wouldn't be because the offense HAS to be built around Big Al (what else do you do with a MAX player?). And that means dump the ball into the post and watch AJ go through his series of ball fakes, throw it back out, get it back, and then try three more fakes until he either scores or turns into a double team.

Even with Al and Millsap, Charlotte and Atlanta are both below .500. Jazz were barely that last season - and there was also a situation that couldn't have continued with the bigs. Burke, Hayward, Millsap, Big Al and DeMarre; backed up by Burks, Kanter, probably Foye, and Mo or some other PG. Favors would have been traded - at least by the deadline. Playoff team? Probably. Throw them in that group fighting for the 5-8 seeds in the WC. Beyond that? A pick in the late teens/early 20's every season, or maybe jumping to 13/14 if they barely missed the playoffs.

Sure, we'd like a top-3 choice, but barring that, give me a top-8 pick and another around 23. Randle, Smart, Exum, Vonleh? I'll get excited over any of those guys. Stauskas, Anderson, or one of many other possibilities at #23/24. Yep, I'm excited!

Why are you talking about last years team?? All I said is I want an exciting team to watch. That means new coach, because Corbin isn't an exciting coach. Then challenging in the playoffs. A title would be great, but it's pretty darn hard to get one.

Well, the proposition was to re-sign Millsap, AL and Mo. Procede down that path and I don't think the team is all that exciting, regardless of who coaches. A playoff team for the next several years, but never a contender - and generally out in the first round given the quality of teams at the top of the WC. It would be difficult to get home court for even round #1.
