What's new

If CP3 really is being traded...

That's almost a worse idea than the original one. Yeah, great plan, tie up half our salary cap room on two guys who play the same position. Moron. I've got another great idea - the Patriots should totally trade for Peyton Manning. He and Brady are close friends - they'd love to be on the same team! They could make it work!

Oooh, ooh, ooh, I've got another idea - how about the Jazz then trade two future No. 1s, Okur and Hayward for Steve Nash! Williams, Paul, Nash, the Jazz couldn't be stopped! YEAH!

Lol, chill out there buddy. It's just a message board.

Im writing in BOLD because i want this to happen...

I hope cuban can do everything in his power to get paul, that way deron wont be so swayed on playing back home when he's a FA !!!

Is anyone else realising how lucky we got drafting Dwill instead of CP3? Not only is he a better PG... But he seems much more loyal than Chris. I think it would take several years in the gutter for Deron to ask for a trade. I mean seriously CP3 only had 1 losing season in the past 3 years, and most of it he spent on the bench. Champions find a way to win.

During all this CP3 nonsense.....Sloan gets some love.

• A relevant point left out of the story last week on the Jazz setting up for the future even as they remain competitive and aggressive in the moment: Jerry Sloan develops young players. It's not the image of the coach who won with Karl Malone, John Stockton and Jeff Hornacek, but Deron Williams, Paul Millsap, Andrei Kirilenko and most recently Wes Matthews all turned early success into big paydays in the last nine seasons alone. Sloan is more of a teacher than given credit. Which probably isn't a surprise given the general lack of credit he's gotten while winning about 1,200 games.

AK to NO
Randolph and Curry to Utah
CP3 to NY

Trade works on trade machine.

... and why would NO do this?

Why??
Why ????
Would we want an expiring contract in say, Michael Redd, if Deron requested a trade??????
Serously, people have to think about all parties involved....

Viny, you're starting to sound like Bill Walton with your hyperbole ... I now need to take one of the biggest craps in the history of the human race.

NO is going to give up their best player and possibly the best player at his position in the NBA for AK's expiring? Um think again. They would lose about half their fan base on that move alone.

I don't see a way he could got to NY without suckering, er, getting a third team involved. NY just doesn't have the assets to make a deal for Paul. Orlando could work. But does ORL feel like that need to make that big of a move? They could offer something like Nelson and either Gortat or Bass or Pietrus with some draft picks. Lakers, I don't see why LA would make a run at him now. They just resigned 2 PGs. They'd have to give up Bynum or Odom to have too many guards?

What is NY's cap situation? Maybe a $6.5 mil TPE would help clear the way for CP3......?

a 6.5M TPE wouldn't help them get CP at all, because CP3 makes far more than that, and you can't combine TPEs with other assets in a trade.

so the only way the jazz get involved is if the hornets don't want what the knicks are offering, so they try to turn it into a 3-team trade where we get NY's guys and they get something from us. but since any trade package for CP would just about have to include eddy curry, i don't think the jazz would be even remotely interested.

in other words... nothing in this thread is going to happen.

D-Will getting a little bit of love from the media over the CP3 saga.

https://sports.yahoo.com/nba/news?slug=aw-paulfuture072310

In Paul’s earliest days with Team USA, officials preferred Deron Williams to him because they believed Williams was far more his own man. No one liked the way Paul was so eager to follow James, Carmelo Anthony and Dwyane Wade. These changes haven’t come overnight with Paul, but over time. James, Carter and Wesley embarked on a long, orchestrated campaign to work Paul over, unfasten him from past loyalties and trusts, and transform him into a creation of their own.

Hopefully, something to hold hope on in 2 years when D-Will becomes a free agent.

In all fairness, Woj has it out for James and some of his latest articles have been deemed hit pieces by some in the journalistic community.
