What's new

If Gordon would get tossed for fighting back, who is supposed to respond?

Yeah, but did the refs ever call that much against him?
Occasionally. My point is that he didn't take to the line and park it. His modus operandi was to go in and be a dirty freight train. I like the "take it to the line and park it" idea, but where that line is up to interpretation and Harpring was just a punk. An embarrassment to basketball, at least once he had basically lost his ability to impact the game with being able to play.

P.S. West says SOMETHING about Hayward being a white boy. Funny, coming from the whitest "black" guy I have ever seen.

No idea what he said to Hayward so I am not really going to get into it except to say the last word does appear to be "boy"

You can see his mouth very clearly in slow motion. It's "white" or something very similar. I can't figure what else might fit there that would match his lips.

Also, I think the word before that is another word for ****** that starts with a p. I'm less sure of that one.

Summary: West should have taken exception to what Hayward did. I can't comment on Hayward's intent, but I tend to agree with the idea that he's doing a lot of little things that tend to go unnoticed. I also think race plays a part in this (because of a likely perception that he gets away with stuff because of image/race), but is not a primary reason for players really having a problem with him (i.e. why would JJ Barea go after him?).

Hmmm, I can't read lips covered in herpes so I'm not sure.

Short Man Syndrome.

hey guys,
I'm a Celtics fan from Boston. Just thought I'd register for your forum and remind you all that your team is soft and a bunch of sissys. Just like when KG punk'd big Al in Boston last month. Enjoy mediocrity....

Regardless of what provoked it, I was disappointed Hayward didn't respond. A double-technical is not the worst thing in the world if it shows you're not going to walk away from every conflict you face. I know I'm more old school, but I don't think West should be suspended and thought an ejection was 50/50...but Hayward and the Jazz have to get PO'd once in awhile when someone does something cheap to them. Still young, but teams know they can punk the Jazz and that's a tough rep to shake once you have it.

No he wasn't. He was a dirty, slimy player. Watching him made me embarrassed half of the time. Made KG look like King Kong.
Karl Malone did many similar things KG or Harpring did. Kobe did as well. Players like that will test the boundries and then go out and try to get away with as much as the referees allow them to. You love it when those guys are on your team and hate it when you're playing against them, but it's competing and using any means necessary to try to win. I'll take that type of competitor over guys not giving a 'crap' any day.

Also, you think Hayward doesn't know what he is doing? He is getting under players skin and making them emotionally react, hurting their team.

Bingo.

Hayward drew the fould on West and reacted like Reggie Miller to get it. That's why West was pissed. Watch the video, even Dirk was pissed.

Hayward is not a wuus, just smart.

Go back to when Butler went to the championship game with Hayward and read some of the quotes from all the Big Schools they knocked off.

They all said Butler was one of the most physical teams they played all year.

Hayward looks like the kid next door, but he has some Reggie Miller "get under your skin" in him.

He is not as emotional as Reggie was, but I think that makes it even better. If he reacts, then West got to him.

He let his Bball do the talking, meanwhile West was mostly on the Bench.

Sloan would have been out there in a second. what happened to the intensity? [video=youtube_share;arqLwWuwLTU]https://youtu.be/arqLwWuwLTU

Edit: I love Gordon Chiesa at the 2:15 mark - for a second he's like, "Are we doing this? Hell yeah let's go!"

Hayward seems to attract this type of attention. I consider that a VERY, VERY good thing.

@sahlensguy - Look at the video, Hayward hits him in the face with an elbow at 1 second. It might be incidental, it might not be. But I think it's what got West mad.

Try to show a little more respect sahlensguy

Good find. No reason for what West did, but I think you are right.

I efffing hate gangsters. That what West is. He is a littte bitch. If a white guy pulls some racists crap like that there would be a huge uproar.

...careful pal! You dangerously close to getting a "warning" for racist remarks! You can't always speak your ******pick'in mind on this board!

Can you imagine what would have happened had someone done that to Carmello Anthony? A full scale riot, cap-pings and all....would have occurred!
