Yes, Hayward probably gets under players skin. Even if that is the case if someone puts his herpes infested finger in any orfice of my body its go time. I think this is clearly a pattern with Hayward getting punked and he doesnt react. And unless he stands up for his self its going to continue.
I bet the neighborhood kids just love you. (Kenwood is really your brother?)

oh chillax. i was clearly being facetious there. it's a discussion forum, for hell's sake, i understand that people are going to belabor things. my point is just that hayward responded with a 5-point spurt and the jazz responded with one of the defining wins of the season. i don't get why, on top of that, we have to engage in some macho bravato bullcrap that would only serve to get us emotionally off-task.
I think most of us agree that Hayward acted correctly. It is just disappointing to see that no one stuck up for him. I want the Jazz closer knit than that.

what, so that al or paul gets ejected for a shoving match instead of gordon? doesn't matter if it's gordon or one of his teammates, we needed to be the team that kept composure. we were.
also, i was there and i'm not sure anybody even realized what happened until well after. corbin saw it and pretty adamantly started pointing it out (if he had stormed the floor it probably would have been a double tech), but other than that it was hard to catch on the first go-around. and since they don't replay those sorts of things on the jumbotron (so as to not incite the crowd), the majority of the people there were trying to figure out what happened. i assume it was the same for a lot of the players. "wait, he did WHAT?!"

You are failing to see the difference in say, a hard pick, or a nice hard foul as they are going up for a basket and hitting the dude.

except that he came out of the game immediately after because a) he was in foul trouble, and b) carlisle knows he's an emotional basketcase and had to get him out.

I think this is part of Haywards game. He's pissing guys off legitimately and getting them to react illegitimately. Afflalo is going to be a headcase next time they meet and Hayward will use that to get deeper under his skin.
I used to think Hayward was a soft little bitch. I still do but now I seem him using it to his advantage.
I would argue this (and I'm not at all advocating he punch anyone, or any of his teammates do that), I think a win win would be for him to turn around and laugh in Afflalo and West's face........or turn around and smile. Serves both purposes, IMO, in that is shows the players he's not soft and it will (continue, if thats the case already) get in the other players head. Just anything besides the "runaway with hands up, looking like he hopes a neighborhood mother will come save him". Again, dont want him to physically retaliate, ...........again, something like Reggie would do.

how is that different from what gordon did? got in starks' head over the course of a heated battle, provoked him, then walked away and let the refs administer justice.
(and that was in the 90s when fighting didn't carry such harsh penalties.)
Earl Watson. Sub him into the game, have him pick a fight with West. Earl will makes West cry more than Lebron when he found out the only difference between his mom and the Prime directive is that Delonte West never violated the Prime Directive.
Ref's blow a double T on both parties, Earl is still out for the remainder of the season with a knee injury, and Delonte causes drama that distracts and the Mav's get swept in round 1.

That's a great example to prove your point, in that it's pretty much what Hayward did. That's just one example though. Reggie was the master of getting in people's heads......maybe ever. So it's a bit of a stretch to compare Gordon to that.
I, personally, am not sold on the fact that Gordon is some sort of master genius and is fully, intentionally getting in players heads. I hope that's the case down the line though.
