What's new

If I had an altar, and this video could somehow be put on it, there would be many sacrifices offered

you coming at me with some Object-oriented Ontology now? Cool stuff. Are you sorta Supermanish?
You got it. Object-oriented Ontology is what I live for. Did you like how I criticized the post-Kantian reduction of philosophical inquiry to a correlation between thought and being, such that the reality of anything outside of this correlation is unknowable?

Philosophy's greatest error. I'm more interested in what you have to say about the post-Kanterian jazz, tho.

The perfect combination. Stockton could make the perfect pass and Malone was so big and fast. Malone was always alert because he knew that ball could be coming his way at all times.

I would HATE to defend Malone. Malone would beat most everyone down the court and he was so strong that he could always get that little space between the defender and Stockton. Stockton could thread the needle every time. All Stockton needed was a little window and Malone was the guy that could give it to him.

CORRECTION:

My artisanally aged fruits, wines, and cheeses would be sacrificed to John. Respect. The first fruits of every new harvest, and any sons, would be placed at the feet of Gobert. Fear.

Thanks for posting that.
I know the music was not your choice but I'm repping your for it anyways.

It reminds me of Shaft for some reason.
I might start calling Gobert "Shaft".

How good would our current team be if we had Stockton in his prime starting with Exum coming off the bench?

Favors is an All-Star for sure if that happened.

God damn.
Burks gonna need to have a great year to retain the #1 spot in my heart.

I love the look on Gobert face at the 17 second mark. That dirk is saying "time to go eat some souls"

He's been my favorite Jazz player since the moment they drafted him. I loved the double stuff of Gortat and the swat towards the basket that just sends the ball flying.

Yep. Watching old Jazz games on NBAtv yesterday, two things stood out most about Malone and Stockton.

Stockton had the ball in his hands all the time, he looked for Malone as often as possible, but picked his spots to get other guys involved (including himself) within the offense. Just picked teams apart.

Malone ran the floor like nobody else. He was always running, even when the Jazz didn't have numbers, always giving Stock a target and opportunity for an easy assist. And he was nearly automatic as a finisher. A genius at avoiding charges. Then he was just a great scorer in the half court. Couldn't be defended.

Both players would still be great without each other, but with each other they were able to go to another level. All this is obvious but that's what stood out most to me watching those games. It's a crime those two were on top for as long as they were and only went to two championships.

Also Jeff Malone was a wizard from about 10-17 feet. Can't imagine anybody being a better scorer from that range than him. So impressive.

ditto.

At this point Rudy is my favorite jazzman since Stockton and Malone.

I'm always amazed at how plain and simple Stockton's handle was.

Not meant as an insult or anything.

The music in the video is the theme song from a 70's television drama called SWAT. I'll let you put two and two together.

... if only for the one-hand, off-the-dribble passes. But then there's the PnR mastery, the fearless play-making at the end of games, etc.

There's still nobody who has matched his ability to deliver a pin-point pass with one hand, off the dribble. Not Kidd, not LeBron.

Correct pass in 4 dimensions: right place, right time. Watching TB run the break is just painful after watching this video. Jazz had the best secondary fast break in basketball because of Stock.
